Yes, I just thought I would provide the delegate count link as a public service :)
I had forgotten how few delegates are really assigned to Iowa. However, in the end--one delegate could make a difference.
Has anyone actually seen the results by candidate and by caucus instead of just the tabulated statewide results.
I no longer don’t trust any of our new software driven voting systems that tabulate and consolidate with out reporting individual hard copy results, and audited witnessed receipts. There is too much at stake on elections to trust black box software. I’d prefer IDs, paper ballots and purple ink.
It’s those butterfly ballots. They make it hard to write the number 2 only once, confusing counters. Enh. Such a narrow win is meaningless. Where’s the momentum for either Romney or Santorum?
Ballots were counted in each precinct in front of everyone who wanted to watch, then phoned in to the state GOP.

The paper ballots were collected and will be counted again by the party, but discrepancies from the original count would be very hard to explain.
Since no delegates or other awards go to the Iowa winners, no one’s going to spend a lot of time or money chasing a few meaningless votes here or there.
Thanks for that info. I agree in absolute terms the Iowa caucuses aren’t as important as a primary assigning delegates, they do initiate important momentum.
