EDITORIAL: Obama and dictatorship

Sorry, defense authorization isn’t opening the door to a liberal police state

Can a mundane defense authorization law create an Obama dictatorship? Many people on the political right and left have been alarmed by language in the 2012 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that they argue authorizes the president to use military force to capture, detain, torture and kill Americans at home and abroad. The furor centers on Sections 1021 and 1022 of the law, which deal with detaining terrorist suspects. Specifically at issue is to what extent the law allows the government to treat American citizens like enemies of the state.

the Tea Party doesn't have much of an endgame

The end game is that he and his minions are exposed and go to jail.

How long will Rush Limbaugh and Free Republic be allowed to stay “on air”?

If hussein steals the election (there is no way he'll be re-elected, but he could steal/rig it)... I would bet you just about anything you care to name that Conservative talk radio, guys like Rush, Levin, etc. and websites like FR are gone before the midpoint of his second occupation.

Great to see Wash Times doing Boehner’s job.

Anyone seen Boehner? MIA?

Cantor?

West? Yep, I did mention him...at this point in our country since he represents largely the Tea Party, it’s time to risk life and limb to speak out against everything going on even if it pisses off Boehner.

This guy's argument is based on the theory that the U.S. Constitution is still in force.

But it's a "living" document. The U.S. Constitution is still in force but now it means what Barry wants it to mean. Redefine a few words here and there, ignore context and the U.S. Constitution can be contorted to allow all sorts of things like outlawing lightbulbs, Obamacare, the "Consumer Financial Protection Bureau", even recess appointments because the Senate is not at that very moment in the chamber conducting business. Coup d'état indeed. Death by a thousand cuts.

You funny.

Nice fantasy, but very few people are in a position to make that happen, and being human they are subject to ... manipulation.

What is to restrain him from placing many of us in Camps?

My bet is that it will be several different calibers/gauges that will do the trick. There will be no camp for me.

I wondered at first why Rush put so much into his HD flash dittocam. I think this is precisely the reason. It's also the reason he occasionally talks about places where he would relocate. Dollars to doughnuts he has a plan to rapidly relocate his entire operation, abandon the over-the-air broadcasts, and go to a web-only format. Hopefully he has a good security adviser who has all his bases covered.

West is now one of the good old boys. Don’t expect him to do anything but play along with the rest of the BOHICA Party. If he speaks out, they’ll make his district disappear.

I think it was Wolfman Jack who fled SoCal because the G put a limit on his station’s radio power so he moved just over the boarder, back home so to speak, and transmitted from Tijuana at full power.

I think the Tea Party thought they had a big win in 2010. It was a win, but it only gave control of the House.

Heck, the game was just beginning and the Tea Party pulled up the stakes and crept away into hiding. It’s success was that it was visible and out there.

Obama isn’t afraid of what isn’t showing its face and speaking out. The visuals alone, give a man a little pause.

The left is always out there and in your face. Our side, not so much.

We have now sat back through all the Dictator edicts coming from Obama weekly. They go unchecked, and many folks don’t even know how quickly they are losing their freedom.

Scary stuff. If some miracle doesn’t happen soon it will be too late.

It seems to be all riding on the election. That is, if we have a fair election or an election at all.

When is the last time you were up north in that urban wasteland of Democrat states, WI MN MI WA OR NY CN NH ME IL? It is all a complete mess wrought by years of Democrat graft and corruption, money misdirected, siphoned off, misspent and now they need more. So Detroitistan DOES actually make sense, but call it CHICAGOSTAN if that makes you happier.

Note that “shutting down” opposition press won’t be blatant. The Left has learned well how to do such things in a “one-off” manner, obfuscating the same ends in a manner which is either socially palatable or requires an eye-glazing explanation to get at the offense. For example: FR wouldn’t be shut down outright, it could be subject to enhanced taxation for excessive “fair use” quotations or hotlinking (something akin to Canada’s tax on blank CD/DVD media on the presumption illegal copies will be made and thus the tax revenue is redistributed to registered musicians), and thus rendered financially unviable; Rush could be silenced by some Cain-like scandal.

Consider how many otherwise good conservative POTUS contenders are driven out of the race by right-wingers outraged at some small but intolerable defect. With careful choreography, such could be applied to much of the Right’s leadership and forums. Agent provocateurs may arise, slandering FR, Rush, and many others with the cumulative effect of silencing - done so from within.

0bama's nothing more than the meat puppet of those far, far worse than he is. None of them are fit to live in a free society.
