Call to Arms - All Conservatives Let's Back Newt Gingrich - Calling Palin, Cain & Rush
January 6, 2012 | Ralph Mitchell

Posted on 01/06/2012 5:38:48 PM PST by mitchell001

This is an appeal to all long-time conservatives. Let's start lining up behind Newt Gingrich, as Thomas Sowell, Art Laffer, JC Watts, Jim Robinson (Free Republic honcho) and others have. The hazzard of holding back an endorsement is that the media, pudits and PAC TV commercials will continue to shape negative opinion against Newt and we may lose our best conservative warrior. The result of the media, pundit and PAC TV onslaught may cause the nominee to be Romney or Santorum. Romney is a moderate and Santorum does not have the experience to Push the conservative agenda in the general election or if elected in the Washington DC - Congressional War Zone. I want to urge Sarah Palin, Herman Cain and Rush Limbaugh to endorse Gingrich now before they lose their voice to the LOUD voices of the media, pundit and PAC TV. He who hesitates is lost.

without a teleprompter? Yes, and even with one. Newt is intellectually agile enough to call barack’s lies out, right then and there, with facts, names, dates. My worry is Newt will overdo it, and barack, the puddle, will start to get sympathy for the wallop. Though I’m not losing sleep over it...

Romney is the establishment pick, and the establishment will insure he is the nominee.

Romney has zero chance at being the nominee. Best case scenario for him is that he picks up 35% of the delegates. That is not enough. The remaining 65% of the delegates will be anti-Mitt and will nominate anyone over Romney. The sooner everyone realizes this, the sooner we can get on with the business of choosing a candidate who will restore America.

A DeMint endorsement would make a big difference. How about we do a writing and or phone solicitation to Senator DeMint and ask him to support Newt Gingrich.

Santorum was ragging on DeMint’s anti earmark stance, which makes it unlikely and difficult for DeMint to endorse him.

Public Policy polled what endorsements seem to be making a difference in SC

One thing that would be a game changer in SC is a DeMint endorsement...that polls MUCH better than a Haley/Graham/McCain nod there

You don’t understand. S.C. will be too late. Romney will win N.H. and that gives him momentum in S.C. where the governor is supporting him. We have to cut him off in S.C. by having only one “not-Romney” to run against him. That one is Newt. If it is not Newt, we are done. Romney will win and go on to Fla. and that’s it. We are right now in critical mode. We have to get Newt’s numbers up in S.C. where he is falling due to Iowa. Time in now or never. Call on Perry at least to bow out for the sake of America. We know that Ron Paul won’t do it. and we can’t expect R.S. to drop out after Iowa. What a mess.

Newt IS the President of this entire primary. Yes, we have to vote for whomever we get stuck with if not Newt, but the facts are what they are.

The unmatched leader of the entire field has been clear as crystal from the beginning and even they know it. The other candidates in awe must wonder why there there, and why we ever shopped around with first one and then another. There is no-contest that Newt’s ability, intellegence, his historic record, his accomplishments are all known, incredible and fearsome to the Left. His enemies have proven his competence, and they are legion. They are also on our side of the aisle.

Orchestrated by the hatred and fear of DC Marxists, liberals, the pouting and fearful Democrats, whom he has rolled on numerous occasions, and the Establishment Republicans, and ALL the media together have struck a blow to conservatives right across the mouth.

After a decades long campaign to slay the giant many conservatives have swallowed it whole. It’s embarrassing.

South Carolina is the first and last stand for the conservative voice. After that, it’s a delegate count.

It’s traditionally a win at 30%. The clock can’t be slowed. Time is running out.

I will back the candidate that can most likely take out Obama. And I think that candidate is . . . Newt.

Romney . . . would run a “gentleman’s race” and lose, just like McCain.

Santorum . . . is a good guy with excellent principles, but his unfortunate perpetual “deer in the headlights” look is against him. So much of politics now is what you appear to be, not what you are. Santorum would lose to Obama as well.

Newt . . . is plug-ugly (not good) but has gravitas (important). He has baggage, but it’s all out in the open, not hidden where it can torpedo him later (like Cain). Most important, he really is a bulldog and will not give an inch to Obama. I think he *could* win. I really think he is our only remaining candidate who can take Obama.

As of now, I’m backing Newt.

I think Newt will take the “Mittens” off and attack. McCain did not and is not doing so now. Romney is trying to use mittens to fight. It won't work. We have to fight.

Newt will never drop out. He is too much of a narcissist for me. We already got one of them at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue .

Also, I am nervous about Rubio. He is working us over good.
He was born, bred and groomed by the Bush machine, Jeb and the boys in the Establishment TO WHOM HE WILL BE FOREVER INDEBTED. That cabal is not conservative, once in power.

Good Post. Well reasoned and it makes sense. Newt will skewer Obama when he strays from his record. Obama must make this election about anything but himself. Newt won’t let that happen. Cheers!

“Oh, do you mean Ron Paul the antisemite?”

Thats exactly who I mean. He’s a spoiler and he’s going to end up getting Willard the GOP nomination. Santorum has no chance to win but Newt does.

It's the conservative vote split you mentioned that will likely doom him. Newt *has* to win S.C. and if Perry and Paul both stay in Willard is the prospective candidate. The arithmetic is plain.

Pubbies can never seem to figure out that winning the damned general *election* is the point! They'd rather fight endlessly over petty little factional differences and ideological "purity," just like here on FR. I'm now resigned to another 4 (8, 12 or more) years of Obama and the end of America and freedom. I hope by some miracle I'm wrong.

Agreed. Newt is as much a flip-flopper as Mitt is. How can he be trusted?
