Michelle Obama and the Evolution of a First Lady
New York Times ^ | 1/7/12 | Jodi Kantor

Posted on 01/07/2012 7:53:16 AM PST by LRoggy

Michelle Obama was privately fuming, not only at the president’s team, but also at her husband.

In the days after the Democrats lost Edward Kennedy’s Senate seat in January 2010, Barack Obama was even-keeled as usual in meetings, refusing to dwell on the failure or lash out at his staff. The first lady, however, could not fathom how the White House had allowed the crucial seat, needed to help pass the president’s health care legislation and the rest of his agenda, to slip away, several current and former aides said.

She always looks like she's privately fuming .....

That's the standard countenance of the perpetually offended. Political correctness requires that they must always be offended, so that they are always entitled.

Most of the time I just let it go because there isn’t enough time in the day to try to fix all that needs fixing. Sometimes I feel like being a wise guy so I pipe up.

Isn't that the truth!

Where there's a shell, there's a way.

25 years ago, we had Ronald Reagan, Johnny Cash, and Bob Hope.
Today we have Obama, no cash, and no hope!

If you can't appreciate the pure beauty of the violin after hearing this, something's wrong with your ears.

Or you can get raw with these strings.

How about this gamechanger from America's Got Talent (which they SHOULD have won).

And finally, this, dedicated to the one and only rdb2. His time may be short.

Either way, the violin is sweet yet LETHAL.

Do it!

I’ve never understood the folks that gush about her fashion sense, how great she looks, etc. ..... but you know, I think they are on to something because her stylists have obviously found a way to totally camouflage the cinderblock-size chip she always carries around on her shoulder.

I respectfully disagree. If the President’s family doesn’t care enough about this country to make a transition to live in the White House, then none of the family should be there. A family is a unit and if they don’t care it sends an extremely bad signal to we the people. The royalty first family aspect business IS wrong, however the answer is to not treat them as royalty, not give them a pass for not moving in.

Here in New York State the Governor stopped living in the Governor’s mansion in Albany starting with lovely RINO Pataki and now the mansion sits empty and the symbolism is real - the lack of caring enough about the state. Because if these families were flexible and intelligent they could get a positive attitude and enjoy the experience!!!

I suspect that underneath these poor decisions are whiney kids complaining and running the show behind the scenes - typical of the dysfunction of the modern family. “I doon’t waant to leave my friends, etc. No leadership by the parents here and empty first houses that should be symbols of pride of office.

(Sorry to go on and on)

A friend was in DC and overheard some parents whose children go to Sidwell Friends(where Malia and Sasha are) talking. They said that the older one, Malia, is sweet and quiet...a good student.
Sasha, on the other hand, is apparently a brat..talks back to the teachers and has even been known to say, “You can’t make me. My dad is President”. Geez.
