I agree, but if the GOP picks Romney and they give a lackluster campaign which reelects Obama, then the perception by many people will be that the GOP wants to lose. Especially given what they have done to Allen West. Why continue to support a party that seems to want to be in second place and support the policies of the first place party.

Allen West in 2016 could be a real viable candidate who could sweep the nation like Reagan. I have to wonder if this redistricting was done to get him out of the game. Like I said, if the GOP appears to want to lose, then IMHO I wonder if we really do have two separate parties. Or do we have an oligarchy with a majority party designed to drive the society into a totalitarian state, and a secondary party to act as a "relief valve" for those who won't go along.

West has made a couple rookie voting errors in addition to the one you mention. His vote against King's amendment to block Pigford funds and the FDA Appropriations bill are two that come to mind. Also, he has discontinued his weekly activity report, which only lasted a few weeks into his term; the last one I recall receiving was the one where he apologized for his rookie mistakes. He needs to spend less time jacking his jaw on Fox News and more on intelligently representing his constituents.

sorry about that. I forget that the rest of the country isnt “ALL WEST ALL THE TIME” like we are in South Florida :)
Others have explained well, but the fight continues down here. There is a website “saveallenwest.com” to try to fight for changes, but some are just scratching their heads at why it was drawn this way by Repubs????

I agree with Jacvin, he should run for Senate. Broward county is being hit hardest by the change in districts. Some in the BREC are fighting back on this. Final hearings in Tally happen on the 11th of Jan.

Take back the leadership positions and alter the party’s course back towards it’s Conervative underpinings.
