ROCKPORT (Kiii News) - The Rockport Police Department is responding to allegations of racial profiling. An attorney claims his clients were pulled over for bogus traffic violations and then asked for their papers. 3 News first started looking into those claims on Friday. When we went to get a response from the police chief, he wouldn't come out of his office. On Saturday, Commander Mark Cory came to our news station to speak on the departments behalf.
In a letter to the mayor and city council, the attorney alleges the police department receives a bounty of 600 dollars for each illegal immigrant they report to immigration and customs enforcement.
I’ve always said that if you put a bounty on them, the ILLEGAL problem would disappear rather rapidly.

Looks as if the administration has taken your suggestion and is putting a bounty on illegal aliens.
I don’t believe this “$600 for every illegal” for one second. ICE ain’t paying bounties just so they can throw ‘em back.
If this is true it’s wonderful news.
Most people don’t understand that Rockport has a high ratio of whites to others when it comes to ethnic balance here in South Texas.
When you go into the stores here you hear words foreign to us in Alice, Texas. Words such as “excuse me. Am in in your way?” Words that don’t really exist down here since manners have been wiped from the culture by others from more primitive cultures.
So there is a 600 dollar bounty on illegals??? Hell, I would be making 6000 dollars a week easy... just sit near the cash register of the stores they frequent, look over their shoulder for address, or follow them and whala!!!!!! easy money payday....( my sons are out of work, perhaps I will send them down there )

Really? From who? If Obama’s ICE is paying that kind of bounty, I’d vote for him.
But, somehow, I doubt thats the case. There may turn out to be some kind of reimbursement paid for dealing with illegals but no way is there a bounty.
I do agree with some of the other posters. If we were serious about eliminating the problem, we would pay a bounty to local police agencies. Secure the border, enforce the law, and add incentives for effective policing.

Well said and as one who spends a good amount of recreational time in Rockport, it really is a nice, safe, well-mannered place. I also like that English (standard English, not the ghetto-thug variant) is spoken most everywhere, even in the convenience stores. If all of Texas could be more like Rockport, the Lone Star state would be heaven on earth.
I don’t buy the bounty BS for one minute. They get a lump Grant. More BS from the illegals.
Just cut out all the freebies that politicians like to give them, and they’d disappear.
Why pay a bounty? There is a reason that they are “illegal”, and PD shouldn’t need an incentive.
