Although a large number of shops in Tehran put a Christmas tree in their windows to welcome Christmas season, the Christmas theme in several shopping centers has displeased the regime dependent media.
Last week you could sense the Christmas season in several streets in Tehran. Many shops had placed a decorated Christmas tree where it could easily capture the attention of passersby. But it seems that this trend has upset the pro-government media!
"One of the main symbols of Christianity, the majority religion of the world, is Christmas which is known by a colorfully decorated tree. What's the point of putting a Christmas tree in every well-known shopping center in a country where Islam is in the majority?"

Iran is becoming more and more like the U.S. everyday. Christmas displays in this country upset the pro-Big Government “media” here also.
That is flat out amazing
Unarmed resistance is alive in Iran. They need a Lech Walesa, maybe one will appear? Who knows, maybe, we to will be lucky and find one here.
That is what I was thinking, our regime’s media doesn’t like Christmas displays either.
Thanks to the war with Iraq, a large number of Iranians are young - under 30, and a lot of them do not like the radical Islamics running the country. It’s why the Iranian government is trying to figure out how to go after things like Facebook and Twitter. If the radicals don’t get it under control now, Iran will fall apart or have a major change within a few decades. Too many young, educated folks there for the nuts to control.
You will see NY Yankee baseball caps everywhere from China to Africa. You will hear western rock & roll music everywhere. You will see kids playing western video games everywhere.
That, plus Christmas trees in shopping malls, must just drive the Islamic extremists absolutely nuts.
A young child was photographed wearing a NY Yankee baseball cap in North Korea recently - at a 'Dear Leader' mourning event... You're right - our culture is everywhere...

It is a secret! If I told you then you would have to kill me!
lol. don’t forget cell phones. jeeze they’re EVERYWHERE ;)
Ironic that they’ve chosen to pick on, of all things, Christmas trees: the origin of which has nothing to do with Christianity, but is a translation into Christian cultures of a pre-Christian pagan tradition.
