Newt Gingrich said Friday that if Mitt Romney becomes the Republican presidential nominee, President Barack Obama will simply “laugh at him.”

“As people look at his record and they imagine him debating Obama, Obama’s going to laugh at him,” Gingrich said on ABC’s “Good Morning America.” “Obama’s going to say, ‘I developed Obamacare based on Romneycare. I even brought your staff into the White House in order to develop it.’

and the average Joe Sixpack who doesn’t follow politics is going to hear “Romneycare” and “Obamacare” and think, “Hell that’s the same thing. May as well stick with what we’ve got”

Are there enough intelligent, attentive independents, Republicans, and conservative Democrats to realize what Romney really is?

Nope. There are enough attacking me here for saying I won’t vote for Mittens to know that they will simply vote for him because he’s not Zero.

March 4, 2008, deep in the heart of Central Texas: Three contenders left in the Rep. Primary election- John McCain, Huckabee, and Ron Paul. Who the hell is the conservative choice? I despised McCain, distrusted Huckabee, and knew Paul could not win. I voted for Paul, and my choices for downstrean candidates. Fast forward to Mar. 6, 2012. Last three standing- Mitt Romney, Ron Paul, and either Newt or Santorum. I go with Newt if he’s still there, and if he’s out? Deja vue all over again.

Romney and Obama, two apples. Newt and Ron Paul, two oranges.

Gingrich is running Romney and Romney is running against Obama. That Gingrich is so hung up Romney is not a good sign he is doing well in this campaign.

Obama may laugh at Romney but I nearly cried when I saw who walked out on stage with him. It was the Defeated and the Defeated-in-waiting watching Romney out there proudly arm-in-arm with John McCain. It couldn’t have been clearer if Nostradamus himself came down from the clouds and showed me his crystal ball forecast for November.

Newt Gingrich is absolutely correct. Those who are politically engaged will look at Romney and laugh at his chances. I pray Newt finds a way to fight this one out and get the nomination. He is the only hope we conservatives have.

That the others aren’t bothering to run directly against Romney, is not a good sign that they know what they’re doing.

Though Santorum’s speaking up more against Romney now, too.
