David Axelrod, chief political strategist for President Barack Obamas re-election campaign and former White House political adviser, defended Jeremiah Wright on Tuesday evening in a speech in Thousand Oaks, CA.
Axelrod described the initial news reports in 2008 on Obamas long-time family pastor and mentor as ninety seconds of vitriol plucked from thirty years of sermons by some enterprising opposition researcher.
The claim that Wrights sermons were selectively edited by Obamas political opponents contradicts what is known about Wrights preaching and the radical, racialist creed of the Trinity United Church of Christ, to which Obama belonged for two decades and to which he contributed a large amount of money.
Axelrods claim is also contradicted by Obama himself, who has cited Wrights enthusiasm for radical politics as the main reason he was attracted to the church.

Rev Wright’s Church believes in Liberation theology which preachs class and racial antagonism. The poor and the people of “color” are oppressed by “whites” or the wealthy. Christian are to struggle against the oppressor. This type of thinking has been condemned by a lot of theologians because it makes the assumption that “white” or the wealthy can’t be “Christian”

Why in the world would Axelrod even bring this up? “Rev Wright? I know no Rev Wright?”

Obama and his hate filled wife are just as racist as Jeremiah Wright.
Axelrod is a liar or a fool probably both.
Jeremiah Wright is a typical, racist pig, the kind obama enjoys wallowing with.
Put simply:
Given enough time Leftists will usually reveal their racism.
Given enough time, about 3 seconds, the average human being with an IQ measured in at least two digits will draw a concusion that Axelrod is a sleazebag not to be trusted.
If you do NOT say the words in the forst place, you cannot be the victim of ‘selective editing’.
Another reason is they pulled all the sermon videos off the church's web site right after those few clips were aired.
I suffered through several of the videos in '08 and Axelrod's argument doesn't hold a drop of water. I hope someone saved some of the videos and will post them online again in the near future. Now would be great since Axelrod has brought the issue up again.
