Warren Buffett: I'll match any Republican donation to pay down the federal debt
The Hill [Washington ^ | 1/12/11 | The Hill

Business mogul Warren Buffet is promising to match any donation Republican members make toward cutting the national deficit. And he upped the ante when it came to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), saying he would match the leader's donations three-to-one. His pledge comes after McConnell said that if Buffett is feeling guilty about not paying more in taxes, he should just send in a check. "With regard to his tax rate, if he’s feeling guilty about it, I think he should send in a check," McConnell said on NBC's "Meet the Press" in September.

Good deal, Warren! But first why don’t you pay what you already owe the federal government. Then maybe we can talk.

Fine by me. Republicans and Democrats paid approximately 2.7 trillion dollars in taxes last year. Go ahead and write the check, Warren.

Here’s a better deal: Buffett should match with a donation every taxpayer dollar the ‘Rats propose spending on “stimulus” and failed social programs. That will wipe him out in a day or so.

All he needs to do is stop his company’s tax challenges, and pay the taxes he owes.

"With regard to his tax rate, if he’s feeling guilty about it, I think he should send in a check," McConnell said...

I lay a good deal of blame on McConnell for this bad PR. For the Trillionth time, it is NOT a revenue problem... it is a SPENDING problem, and McConnell is playing into the 'rat game with this comment. It's implication is that the fed gov does not have enough revenue to pay its bills because taxes are too low. The new $5 T in debt in the last 3 years is due SOLELY to out-of-control debauched profligate wanton wild spending.

That’s why he is all for the estate tax. They have no problem using the government to steal from the people.

Can we have a Freep-A-Thon for Sen. McConnell?

If every registered US Freeper (Population 4048.....saa-lute!) gave Mitch $4,117,259.55, we could bankrupt The Orifice of Omaha (Net Worth $50B).

I’m in right after my Nigerian bank matter clears.

Match? What the hell? C'mon, Warren, you said you thought billionaires SHOULD pay more...now you expect others who aren't billionaires to pay more and then you'll match it.

What a hypocrite.

Aside from the fact that Buffett owes 1.3 Billion in back taxes right now, which he hasn't paid....., Berkshire Hathaway has controlling interest in Burlington Northern railroads. Burlington Northern owns 40% of AMTRAK, the federally subsidized psuedo private corporation that is full of black holes of money.

Here's a suggestion ole Warren Baby. How about you personally pony up the subsidy for 2010-2011. In 2010, Amtrak received $563 million in operating subsidies and $1 billion in capital and debt service grants. So, Warren how about you pay an additional 40% of the 1.563 Billion dollars the American taxpayer PAID YOU on Amtrak (plus a percentage of the "paper loss" you show from Amtrak, which looses more than it makes in any year) on top of the 1.3 Billion you STILL haven't paid? OK? The original national socialist, psuedo genius investor. The burnt sage of omaha. Boesky at least admitted to what he did- you just sit on the boards. Nice.

To Warren Buffett,

Here you go you sanctimonious old fart. Just shut your yap, and send it in, but let us see the canceled check, because frankly, we don't trust your word.

The US Treasure will gladly accept any money you want to give them. Last year they got a whopping $3 Million. Click here to make your donation to more fraud and corruption!

Mr. Buffett, you could easily multiply that measly $3 million by ten -- or twenty.. or even a hundred, just by letting go of some stock options.

Put YOUR money where your fat mouth is ... and then watch the corrupt government blow it to to buy more votes, create more dependent slaves on their plantation, and destroy more lives that could easily have been free and productive lives!

But Mr. Buffett, what the hell should you care about small details like that? You never have and never will live your life in a neighborhood taken over by Section 8. You don't see the destruction the Federal welfare state has created. You only see the Kennedy Center, and awards and Georgetown and all the glitter and gold.

You, Mr. Buffett would rather be smug in your well furnished (and protected) cocoon pretending to be Mr. Everyman by always playing the politically correct card that keeps the hoards of the Occupy people from picking on you. Good business move. Despicably immoral.

You may or may not be a financial genius, but you are most defiantly not a person concerned with the future if a lame attack like this challenge to McConnell is your idea of fiscal responsibility or good social policy. It looks, smells and sounds like pandering to the entrenched bureaucrats just to keep them off your ass!

Mr. Buffett, put up or shut up!

Sincerely yours,
Ditto

Why doesn’t he pick on someone his own size? A billionaire trying to pick money fights with millionaires. Typical liberal. Let the idiot give away all but $10 million of his money and show us what he’s made of.

Warren Buffet is a sycophantic Obama lickspittle. He’s really disgusting. Why doesn’t he challenge Corzine, McAuliffe, Rubin and Raines to make a contribution to the Federal coffers? They’re all thiefs. Buffet’s Vanguard of the Proletariat act is wearing very thin. Just shut Warren and give it all the Democrats you worthless scumbag.

Well said, Ditto! Buffet is a disgusting individual. To think that he supported such a nonentity for President is to stretch credulity. But he did. He has no values! Zilch! Nada! Just shut up Warren and give it all away now. Give life to your beliefs you hypocrite.

All of us are going to be guilty of hypocrisy at one point or another in our lives.

With Buffett, it seems that hypocrisy is not so much a personal failing as it is a core feature of his business plan. ;~))
