Another Bill To Turn American Citizens Into Enemies Of The State
Carroll Standard ^ | 1/13/12 | Chuck Baldwin

Posted on 01/12/2012 9:53:19 PM PST by Nachum

On the heels of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), otherwise known as the "Indefinite Detention Act," comes another draconian bill designed to give the federal government the power to turn American citizens into enemies of the state for virtually any reason it deems necessary. Stephen D. Foster, Jr. has the story.

"Congress is considering HR 3166 and S. 1698 also known as the Enemy Expatriation Act, sponsored by Joe Lieberman (I-CT) and Charles Dent (R-PA). This bill would give the US government the power to strip Americans of their citizenship without being convicted of being 'hostile' against the United States. In other words, you can be stripped of your nationality for 'engaging in, or purposefully and materially supporting, hostilities against the United States.' Legally, the term 'hostilities' means any conflict subject to the laws of war but considering the fact that the War on Terror is a little ambiguous and encompassing, any action could be labeled as supporting terrorism."

Foster goes on to say, "I hope I'm wrong, but it sounds to me like this is a loophole for indefinitely detaining Americans. Once again, you just have to be accused of supporting hostilities which could be defined any way the government sees fit. Then the government can strip your citizenship and apply the indefinite detention section of the NDAA without the benefit of a trial."

See Foster's report.

Ever since Congress passed the Patriot Act back in 2001, it seems the floodgates have been opened for more and more intrusions and abridgements of those fundamental liberties expressly protected in the Bill of Rights. From the Patriot Act, to the Military Commissions Act, to the NDAA (Indefinite Detention Act), and to now the Enemy Expatriation Act (EEA), these big government toadies in Washington, D.C., are clearly and unmistakingly declaring war

The mis-named Patriot Act is one of the main reasons I detest ex-president Bush.

Paving the way for obama is the other.

Don’t know anything about Dent, but Liebermann’s I.Q. is in the same range as “Dollar Bill” Bradley’s and Joe “The Foreign Policy Expert” Biden’s.

Not at all surprising. Some of the dumbest people on earth sit in the U.S. Congress. Serial political criminals called “entrenched incumbents”.

These bills that are being introduced and that are being passed (NDAA) use to be stories told by the tin foil hat/ black helicopter types. They use to be poo pooed as conspiracy talk. Look where we are headed.............

IMHO, this is being introduced due to the large number of muzzies in this country and something is expected as we attack Iran. But that’s just me.

I’m beginning to believe that the conspiracy theories about FEMA concentration camps ain’t so crazy now.

This bill and the Patriot Act are paving the way to making FEMA camps a reality.

Scary stuff.

Sadly, governments grow and over time and develop contempt, hostility and eventually destroy of their own citizens. It may be that those in power need to reinforce their own sense of power by first ordering citizens around with ever more byzantine laws, and when that power trip becomes ineffectual, getting a thrill from killing their own citizens.

Two words - “TERM LIMITS”. It is our only hope. We must demand that these creatures are only allowed to serve a limited amount of time. It limits the damage that they can do and prevents the from building their own individual fiefdoms.

Did you really think we want those laws observed? said Dr. Ferris. We
want them to be broken. You'd better get it straight that it's not a bunch
of boy scouts you're up against... We're after power and we mean it...
There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is
the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough
criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that
it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a
nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just
pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or
objectively interpreted and you create a nation of law-breakers and then
you cash in on guilt. Now that's the system, Mr. Reardon, that's the game,
and once you understand it, you'll be much easier to deal with.

The America I once knew, “land where my fathers died”, exists no more. 0bama, on a whim can have you tracked, seize your property and searched without a warrant; you can be imprisoned for owning a firearm; if he's having a bad day he can have you killed without due process; and now a low level bureaucrat can make you a man, or woman, without a country.

America is quickly becoming a totalitarian state. The Constitution is dead.
