May I make two observations?
(1) Occasional donations from FReepers quarter-to-quarter do not and cannot constitute any kind of reliable financial base on which FreeRepublic.com can rely, for its daily operations and ever evolving systems needs.
What is needed is for all of us FReepers to "go monthly." If we love this forum, give something back. If it's even so little an amount as $5 a month, drawn on your bank account or credit card, you won't even miss it. But it will mean everything to FreeRepublic.com in terms of having a reliable, predictable financial base on which to base critical business decisions going forward — in this most critical year.
(2) The thought occurred to me recently that I, a long-time FReeper — I celebrate my 14th anniversary this coming March 9 — have NEVER cleaned out my FreepMail the whole time I've been a member of this Forum!!!
How much would it help, if people were to go clean out their mailboxes every now and then? I have noted long access times at FR recently, both accessing the main server, and moving within various FR departments.
If we did a little personal housekeeping, would that help at all?
