Romney gets a faith question in SC

Mitt Romney, one of two Mormon candidates in the Republican presidential field, was pressed about his faith by a woman who attended his veteran's event here.

He was asked to expand on his faith by a woman who asked him: "Do you believe in the divine saving grace of Jesus Christ?"

"Yes, I do," Romney responded. "I would hope that there are people in our nation that have different beliefs. There are people of the Jewish faith and the Islamic faith and other faiths who believe other things, and our president will be president of the people of all faiths," he said.

"We welcome people of other faiths. I happen to believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God and my savior, but I know other people have differing views and I respect those views, and I don't believe those qualify or disqualify people for leadership in our nation," he said.

The Boston Globe is reporting on this too, and is saying that the audience cheered.

Perhaps it's time to really dig in and campaign on his more liberal issues and not just rely on the perceived Mormon factor.

If want to give your man a pass on his ISM, perhaps you could/would/should explain how MormonISM rectifies the following teaching with what Milt the liar tried to pass off as his 'christian' credentials? ...

"We may talk of men being redeemed by the efficacy of his [Christ's] blood; but the truth is that that blood has no efficacy to wash away our sins. That must depend upon our own action." [ LDS Apostle Amasa M. Lyman, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 7, p. 299, 1859]

Interestingly, Romney’s response never mentioned his Mormonism.

Anyway, I don’t think it’s worth going after personally. But you can count on the Left to make a stink out of it. I’ve already had discussions with both liberals and conservatives who claim they find Mormonism creepy and alarming, and that a Mormon president should be avoided at all costs.

And just a side note: N00b, MIlt Rominy (it rhymes with hominy, the huskless corn product) is a rino, a liar, and his feignt trying to pretend he’s just like any other Christian, is not well received at FR.

Otherwise, did anyone notice how he excluded Wiccans,Satanist,Rastafarians and Shintoist by mentioning Muslims and Jews? Why do they never get a shout out? Lets all be lectured on inclusiveness by the next would-be King-a-ling.

FIrst, he’s not my man, my man was canned by the media. Second, I’m pointing out that the religion factor seems less formidable in SC where I, and I’m guessing you, thought it would be impossible for him to overcome.

Time to step it up in other areas.

Mormonism = created Jesus, not eternally God, who later became a polygamist, performed works and became one of the 4 Mormon Earth Gods:

1. Heavenly Father - started life as a created being and later became a God
2. Mormon Jesus Christ - started life as a created being who later became God - death isn’t sufficient to save unless you add your own worthiness to it.
3. Mormon Holy Ghost - started life as a created being, but did something wrong and was punished by not receiving a physical body - but somehow qualified to become a God.
4. Heavenly Mother - started life as a created being, later became a goddess. Breeds with Heavenly Father to create all spirit children, who get bodies when they come to earth.

5. Mormonism teaches there are an infinite number of other gods, with more being created all the time - including the belief that mormons can become gods.

Mitt lied by omission, shading the truth, presenting the part that sounds the most Christian.
Mormonism isn’t Christianity and doesn’t believe what Christianity teaches.

"It is true that the blood of the Son of God was shed for sins through the fall and those committed by men, yet men can commit sins which it can never remit.... There are sins that can be atoned for by an offering upon an altar, as in ancient days; and there are sins that the blood of a lamb, or a calf, or of turtle dove, cannot remit, but they must be atoned for by the blood of the man." (Sermon by Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 4, pages 53-54); also published in the Mormon Church's Deseret News, 1856, page 235)

On another occasion Brigham Young made this chilling statement regarding a person's obligation to spill the blood of those who committed serious sins:

"Now take a person in this congregation who has knowledge with regard to being saved... and suppose that he is overtaken in a gross fault, that he has committed a sin that he knows will deprive him of that exaltation which he desires, and that he cannot attain to it without the shedding his blood, and also knows that by having his blood shed he will atone for that sin and be saved and exalted with the Gods, is there a man or woman in this house but what would say, 'shed my blood that I may be saved and exalted with the Gods?'

"All mankind love themselves, and let these principles be known by an individual, and he would be glad to have his blood shed. That would be loving themselves, even unto an eternal exaltation. Will you love your brothers and sisters likewise, when they have committed a sin that cannot be atoned for without the shedding of their blood? Will you love that man or woman well enough to shed their blood? That is what Jesus Christ meant....

Some of these people here would rather die than ever admit that they might be wrong about anything. Don’t worry about it.

What Christian ever mentions Islam when explaining their faith? Gratuitous pander. They ( like homosexuals) are 1 to 1.5 % of the american population. What the heck is wrong with Mitt? (Way too much to answer but his answer here just throws up another red flag)

Mormon's today like to conflate language, but at the end of the day, the distinct difference in Christianity and Mormonism is in the Nicene Creed:

(We believe)....And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, Very God of Very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father by whom all things were made....

However, my problems with Romney is he is a moderate to liberal guy. His economics is big business/government centered, not on free markets/consumers. He disguises his liberalism and economics with punch words and key talking points. The guy was so unpopular in Mass. he did not run for a second term, yet is slick enough to convince the establishment he can make an impact with NE moderates. He has convinced everyone he is the "market" guy because he was in the business world, yet he supports ethanol subsidies, deflating the US dollar, keeping the US tax code with a 59 page modification and has offer no substantial plan to ease the massive US regulation

You have hit on the nerve of this matter: ISLAM

Obama said this is not a Christian nation. The media is doing everything they can to intregrate the Muslims into the Norm, can't call them terrorists any longer, we are being slowly immunized to accepting any type of religion.

Look around, watch how the media is attacks TeBOW for his True faith, all the while they go gaga over Atheists, Mormons,Islam, etc.etc.etc, any false faith there is.

If Romney the mormon god is elected, we are only one step away from electing a radical Muslim, THINK ABOUT IT. There is not much difference in the two faiths.

(and if you don't know about what Mormons believe, you BEST check it out). There is PLENTY in GOOGLE to read, and there will be a few coming along shortly to enlighten all.

We are entering the age of Christian,Mormon,Islam merged into "Chrismorislam" the NEW RELIGION OF AMERICA. Can't we all just get along?/s
