Excerpt: Rush on Romney quote: "He'll Roll Back...Liberalism"
Rush Limbaugh radio program transcript ^ | Jan. 13, 2012 | Rush Limbaugh

--snip--

CALLER: Oh, yeah, we got bulldoze him. [Romney] He's gotta know there is no safe haven. If he's gonna represent the Republican ticket then he's gonna have to --

RUSH: Let me tell you something I heard him say --

CALLER: All right.

RUSH: -- that I don't know that he's said publicly. He said, if he wins, he thinks he'll only last one term.

CALLER: Now, are you talking about Obama or are you talking about Romney?

RUSH: He says that he is going to roll back all the stuff the left has done. He's gonna ban Obamacare. He's gonna fix Medicaid. He's gonna take on Social Security. He says, (paraphrasing) "I've got four years to save this country, and if I succeed I'm gonna be so hated, I may not get reelected."

CALLER: Well, I'll tell you what --

RUSH: And what he means by that is the media and the left is gonna come after him like crazy, because he is going to be taking on every one of their sacred cows.

One of our guys needs to do an ad “The Next Day”. It would show our country six months or a year after elections. Romney would be working with Dems on gun control and asking for more money because his “investment” failed. Israel would be invaded and defeated while Paul went biking (who cares from debates), etc. People don’t project, don’t consider what their vote actually means.

And Obama, show the country transformed into third-world and Obama doing what he’s done for the first three years in office, destroying America.

I have been a Rush 24/7 member for years and years.

Last week, I asked for my annual membership money back, which I only paid 3 weeks ago.

His bashing Newt and saying we should defend the disgusting “form” of Capitalism that Mitt operates made me want to puke. I don’t begrudge ANY ONE making millions or billions. But treating American workers like chattel and throwing the jobs that he created to China and other countries is undefendable. (although perfectly legal)

I do not trust Mitt to be unbiased with regards to Wall Street and legislation. I would trust any of the others more.

Rush probably “golfs with Mitt”. That’s his test of quality leadership.

Good grief, in one of the debates, he lied about his own NAME.

Certainly, one of Mitt's greatest hits, along with this gem:

http://www.usatoday.com/news/politics/election2008/2007-12-20-romney-mlk_N.htm

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has said he watched his father, the late Michigan governor George Romney, in a 1960s civil rights march in Michigan with Martin Luther King Jr.

On Wednesday, Romney's campaign said his recollections of watching his father, an ardent civil rights supporter, march with King were meant to be figurative.

"He was speaking figuratively, not literally," Eric Fehrnstrom, spokesman for the Romney campaign, said of the candidate.

The campaign was responding to questions raised by the Free Press and other media after a Boston publication challenged the accuracy of Mitt Romney's account.

In a major speech on faith and politics earlier this month in Texas, Mitt Romney said: "I saw my father march with Martin Luther King."

Romney's record is further than left than Obama's.

Absurd.

Bain owns Clear Channel & pays Rush's $400 Million contract. Rush is shilling.

That is probably one of the dumbest statements made on FR in months, and that is saying something.

Rush doesn't need Bain Capital or Clear Channel, they need him.

Rush earns what he does because people listen, buy products, join his 24/7, buy his newsletter etc. and have been doing so, better than anyone else, for 20 plus years.

You want to reconsider your post?

How is it absurd to say Romney's record in Massachusetts isn't more liberal than Obama's as President?

Romney included $50 abortions in his healthcare plan while Obama was forced to exclude taxpayer funding.

Romney signed gay marriage into law, something Obama can only dream of doing.

Romney raised taxes and frees significantly while Obama hasn't been able to.

Yes, I love Rush but when push comes to shove he’s going to tow the party line.

Yes, I agree, there is plenty to be leery and wary of Mitt Romney, but.....after the sad perfromances of hate, emotion, lies, smears and envy coming from the mouths of Newt Gingrich and Rick Perry, Romney looks like a saint. Nonsense. Romney overspent Santorum 20/1 with negative "lies and smears" in earlier primaries. And you call him a "saint"?

Beware folks: the Romney machine is active and beginning to rear its ugly, deceptive head right here on FR.

I was afraid this was going to happen, the mods are going to be very busy around here.

Read the entire transcript. For some reason citizen decided to excerpt only the portion that could be construed as being pro-Romney; cutting out the before and after part, which puts his comments in perspective.

I’ll give Rush the benefit of the doubt. I would imagine he sees us cutting off our noses to spite our faces and wants to let the process weed them out. Let’s face it, if we so trash a potential candidate that he becomes totally unelectable and ends up being “it” we’re even more screwed than we are now. That said, I hope Romney crashes and burns soon - maybe Newt has the magic matches to make it happen.

Yes, everyone should read the entire transcript. Rush had a good conversation with the caller about choosing who to back.

There's plenty of reason to be leery of Mitt Romney. However, one thing I am confident of is that the Romney of today is genuinely more conservative than when he governed Massachusetts. How much more is the question.

If you truly think that, you are too naive to live.

Romney will roll back nothing. He will institutionalize all the advances socialism has made under Obama.

Bank on it.

Rush is a being revealed for the shill he is. It's really sad to watch.

I'm not sure if Mitt really changed, so if he is just saying what needs to be said to be elected. I'm for Rick Santorum, but if Romney is the winner... I'll vote for him, but I hope it is Rick Santorum and Rick Perry as the ticket.

With this election.. I am not voting for Obama...i know some of you will be indirectly
