Recommendations from Obama jobs council have a conservative tilt

President Obama's jobs council is recommending a series of job-creating proposals with a distinct Republican flavor — just the latest economic message to emerge as Obama prepares for his contest with the eventual Republican nominee.

Obama's jobs council is calling for an overhaul of the corporate tax structure, expansion of domestic petroleum drilling and a raft of reforms to federal regulation.

As first reported by Reuters, the new corporate tax rates should sink to "internationally competitive levels," the report says, as well as an "all-in strategy" to cut reliance on foreign fuels by promoting domestic sources.

This is just the latest in the new stream of GOP-sounding policy proposals coming from the White House this year. Last week the proposal was to streamline the government by consolidating federal agencies.

Meaningless.

In the first place, he has a poor record of following any advice from one of his councels that makes any sense.

In the second place, even if he signs off on it, it is meaningless. For instance, he lifted the ban on drilling in the Gulf but—surprise—the EPA didn’t issue any permits for months and months, and is still keeping a lid on it.

Meaningless gestures, as long as this job killer is in office, and his minions in charge of every department and agency.

OMG, this creep is such a Chameleon!

Odd that the SOB is wrapping the banner of “job creation” around himself after spending 3 years destroying job incentives with his socialist policies.

Yep. Anybody remember Simpson-Bowles? Obama named the committee early in 2010--an election year. As soon as the election results were in, the committee became moot. Obama ignored them completely. Note that they were to issue their report AFTER THE ELECTIONS.

This is just more election year BS from the Liar in Chief.

The Pubbie leadership needs to push this, NOW, draft the bill (identical in both houses) to implement the recommendations, and don’t let up on it.

Thanks NormsRevenge.
