Saudi Arabia: 'All Available Options' Open on Iran

Even as Western officials try to tamp-down the drums of war with Iran amid spiking oil prices, Saudi Arabia says it is ready to go to war to defend its interests.

Former Saudi intelligence chief Prince Turki al-Faisal told delegates at a Gulf Cooperation Council conference that Riyahd will use "all available options" to defend itself against Iranian "threats" that might trigger "unwanted military confrontation."

Al-Faisal's comments to the conference in Bahrain late on Tuesday came after Tehran demanded Riyadh rethink its offer to make up for any oil lost to world markets as a result of threatened curbs on Iranian exports.

"Any threat to our interests or security will force us to use all available options to defend our interests, and national and regional security," Faisal was quoted as saying by the Al-Arabiya news channel.

"The mounting escalation and persistent tensions might end up in an adventure with unpredictable consequences or in an unwanted military confrontation."

Build a nuclear bomb, threaten Israel, threaten America, that's not so bad. Threaten our sales strategy for thet black gold, and we gits our dukeses up. Arab honor must be upheld (loud tongue trilling noise).

"all available options" open on Iran.

A statement which says exactly..... nothing.

If an option is not "open", then it's not "available", is it?

Someone needed to take down Iran, and this goes back at least to George W. The failure to reduce Syria and Iran was a huge mistake. Could have stabilized the entire Middle East.

Thank God Obama thinks all options are on the table too...

Making friends...
Not sending the wrong signals...
Kissing Iran’s ass as it relates to U. S. Citizens and their plight in Iran...

Oh wait. Nevermind...

Joking aside, I half expect Obama to defend Iran’s right to close the Straights of Hormuz if they want to.

This guy makes a head of cabbage look like an MIT graduate.

Seen through by someone who parses words. Congratulations. Your consolation prize is that the MSM will remain absolutely clueless to the emptiness of the Saudi threat.

The only “options” are on the stock exchange-— and these “insiders” are making billions knowing when the saber is going to be rattled- and when it’s going to be shielded.

Well, that won’t be good for the global trade/debt paradigm, although our master constituents won their victory for routing more Canadian oil to China. The Arabs needed $85 oil a couple of years ago. They need $100 oil now.

In addition to Afghanistan and Iraq, you're saying that we needed to go to war with Syria and Iran?

——”all available options”-——

That includes killing scientists on the street.

You are cavalier in your statement and apparently forgot that Iran plotted to murder the Saudi ambassador. I suppose you don’t know that Iran sent armed troops to Mecca to attempt to take over the Holy Shrines back in about 1980. Also at risk is the UAE and the tallest building in the world and a financial and trade center that is the most modern in the world.

The threat to Israel is not as great as the threat to the Gulf States.

The very fact the statement was made is of extreme importance. The statement is a very very strong message to Iran

Yes Im saying when you had a huge army/ air force in Iraq that was the time for regime change in Syria and Iran. They play reality not political correctness. That is why they kill our soldiers, support terrorists, build atom bombs and threaten our navy.

If the regimes change without war, great.
