FNC now doing their best to limit the impact this will have in helping Newt! Spin says it’s meaningless because his poll numbers are low anyway.

Wow, what a speech and endorsement.

I saw a man with gentle greatness and one that truly loves this country.

I wish Gov. Perry well.

Formal endorsement of Newt and a wonderful explanation of the power of forgiveness.

Thanks for that, TheCOrnerOffice. My live feed of the speech was cut off right after the endorsement of Newt. What I DID hear from Perry up to that point was very well said.

why are they resignation speeches among the best?

Possibly they're a lot more relaxed because once the decision is made, the pressure and stress are gone. Also, for anyone with hopes of a future political career, these speeches are the last chance to make a good impression to linger until "next time".

Bret Baier says he disagrees with previous guest that this endorsement is meaningless. He thinks Newt will get atleast 5-6 pts. because of this! He things it is significant because it is the first real movement of conservatives to unite behind one candidate.

I would LOVE seeing him take KBH’s seat just to shove the rove/bush twofaced, backstabbing, liberal cabal’s face in it. HUGE.

“I felt that way from the beginning. I cannot believe that so many FReepers were attacking this conservative Governor with the vitriol that they were. There is no perfect candidate. By the standards set by some, Reagan would have been skewered.”

I agree with you; it was a disgrace. The vitriol I saw made me sign up with FR so I could add my support for Perry. And some of the most egregious offenders will now gush over Perry and thank him for his endorsement.

I'm sure Rove's Blackberry is buzzing constantly with texts from Myth.

I think that is where he will stay.
Maybe a senate run fo KBH’s seat. Delicious irony there.

Personally I don’t think so. We already have seven or so in the race after the first filing period closed. A 2nd filing period mandated by the Feds will offer an opportunity ending in Feb. Strong candidates include Ted Cruz, David Dewhurst and Tom Leppert that are already in the race.

WE are watching a statesman.

A little reminiscent of Ronald Reagan conceding to Ford in '76. People were left wondering if the wrong man conceded.

Hopefully, we will see more of Governor Perry on the national stage in years to come. A class act.

Question: Will Newt now get the Gene Simmons/Ted Nugent/Toby Keith vote?

as a believer, I too understand forgiveness, but Newts past was giving me pause, but Perry’s words knocked me upside the head and humbled me. He is just a classy man.

It helps..............some.

I'm still on 'pause' with Newt's moral issues. BIG stumbling block for me.

Out of the three that you listed, I like Ted Cruz the most.

Thank you for your contributions, governor Perry. I am impressed by everything you did and said except for the headless part.
Run again.
