WOW, that is big news! Megan has been on the Romney bandwagon and taking Newt down every chance she could get. That is the first I have heard of her defending Newt.

Newt is coming on strong at all the right moments. The latest drop, took the heat off of him long enough for it to be directed at Santorum, who really deserved some badly needed scrutiny. Santorum was grossly over rated and did not deserve even being called a true Conservative, when his Senate record shouted the opposite.

Maybe the GOP E and media sycophants are finally beginning to have a few second thoughts about mittens. He's had years of practice and still can't hit a home run when it comes to addressing the controversies that could doom his campaign even among Pubbies (who really like capitalism).

Hold on, though. I watched the same interview. Did you also hear the bit where she literally acted as a Romney representative? The SC Democrat guy was rattling off the stuff Romney was accused of and she said - these were her EXACT words - “That’s not TRUE about Romney!”

She didn’t say: “Romney disputes that.” She didn’t say: “Those are unconfirmed allegations.” She said: “That’s not True.”

My wife (who doesn’t follow this stuff closely) noticed that right away and was as stunned as I was.
