Newt took 1st question about ex-wife, wrapped question around John King’s neck, and tightened
Legal Insurrection ^ | 1/19/2012 | William Jacobson

John King started the night with a question about Newt’s ex-wife’s interview in which she alleged Newt sought an “open marriage.” Newt answered the question eventually with a denial, but used the oppoturnity to give King a smackdown which will be remembered for a long time.

You bet there's a lot more he could say, and the media whores know it. That's why they will drop this story and "move on" fairly soon.

BTW what ever happened to all the anonymous "wronged women" of Herman Cain? Dropped off the edge of the earth did they?

Newt did a good job of distracting — but he does have a character problem here

What problem? and are your planning to vote at all?
The story has been refuted by his daughters and the time line does not support the X wife's story.
The ONLY problem is for those LOOKING TO SEE THE NEGATIVES of Newt, usually Obama fans, and Romney/Paul fans... or those not looking to vote Republican at all.

So where do you fit?

"Making it the very first question, something that might set the tone for the whole debate, was. "

Safe bet King would like a do over. Clearly CNN/King underestimated how tired folks are of this National Enquirer BS.

I didn’t mean people won’t talk about it for a day or two. It won’t affect either SC or the general election much, IMO.

Gotta remember, these morons are schooled in 1970's feminst sisterhood dogma. All women must stick together against the oppressive male patriarchy.

The "gender gap" will be the new talking point against Newt as they desperately attempt to repair the ramshackle ruins of what they thought would be their wonderful sneak attack, and manufacture some new way of dividing people.

"Romney couldn’t answer when he’ll release taxes,"

I can't see any reason Mitt would ever release his taxes. Proof that he's in the top .0001%, a Wall Street insider, who has probably given millions to the Mormon church. LOL!! We aren't seeing them in April, or any other time.

Sad but true....

Why sad? Cause he put a slimy member of the MSM /maybe the whole MSM in it's place?
Or because he looks like he could beat Obama?

Heavens to Mergetroy.

Gingrich has a gift. That gift was earned, in the fires of Saul Alinsky nastiness, and he now has learned from the enemy.

What I just saw in that short clip, was the same thing Rush Limbaugh is so good at... Giving word to what we out here in the real world, think.

I’ve never seen Gingrich that good before. And I’ve admired him a long time.

We really, really need to elect that man as our president.

He’s the one, who can give voice to our concerns.

THAT. WAS. AWESOME.

You’re right, we can’t afford to play so let’s all give up and go home.

Romney is very brittle under pressure and is way more likely than Newt to crack. Mitt is not used to being questioned, you can see it in his eyes--he has paper thin skin.

Spot on. Thurston Cayman Island Howell III's response to tough questions is to brush off the interviewer with a "How dare you" approach. For an example of this, check out the recent interview Brett Baier did with him.

"...in the long term will be an issue with women and will be his downfall if he gets the nomination."

Doesn't appear so at the moment. Single women are the biggest problem demo for hussein/Dems right now. They are abandoning the party. He had (approximating) 70% in '08, less than 50% in '10 and the numbers continue to drop as the economic numbers go down. Look into it.

I doubt Newt would get much of the female vote.

If the women are liberals, they will vote for 0dumb0shit, even if he raped, pillaged & roasted a young girl on stage. Liberalist is a mental disorder, and libturds will vote for a demoRAT, moderate or radical, anytime over a Republican, because liberalism-socialism is their religion as well as political ideology. That being said, I think that most white women independents are not all that enamored with radical socialist 0dumb0shit, and WILL vote for Newt!

in the long term will be an issue with women and will be his downfall if he gets the nomination.

Do you mean LIBERAL women, or MODERATE women?
Or just who do you mean? If it is those who would not consider a strong non democrat man then we mist likely would not get that segment anyway.

this issue will be with him all the way. have to face up to it.

Watch the video; I think this issue is a non-starter.

That was awesome!

I'm watching it again on DVR just to see Newt in action again. That moment stole the thunder from the rest of the debate!!!
