Crime is danger in remote areas, ADEQ director says Border-trash battle called tough, risky

PHOENIX - With many of those crossing the border illegally shifting to remote areas in response to stepped-up enforcement, the trash they leave behind is becoming tougher - and riskier - to clean up, a state agency director told lawmakers Thursday.

"These are dangerous areas," Henry Darwin of the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality told the Senate Border Security, Federalism and States Sovereignty Committee. "These are known areas of illegal immigration, illegal drug trafficking."

He called trash along the border "a fairly significant issue" that has persisted even as illegal border crossings have declined slightly.

Showing pictures of trash-strewn landscapes, Darwin said that illegal immigrants leave behind an estimated 2,000 tons of clothing, backpacks, plastic bottles, soiled diapers, abandoned vehicles and more each year.

The worst sites are where illegal immigrants or drug smugglers wait or camp, he said, adding that rain often washes the debris into drainages.

The State should sanction a hunt. This would allow the citizen to assist in controlling the border. However, such action would require a degree of inner strength on the part of government and citizen. Lacking such strength we are losing the war to regain the southwest; said war being declared by Mexico and its citizens.

Every single Congress-critter who refuses to demand enforcement of our national sovereignty, borders and immigration laws should be required to view these photos on a monthly basis until they “get it”.

Part of the isue of illegal immigration (for me, at least) is that the illegals want to leave their cesspool of a country behind and recreate it here. The mounds of trash and garbage they leave behind is proof enough but, look at what they have done in the cities they have moved to. LA is a perfect example of what these illegals are doing to our country.

LA used to be a nice city but, with the massive influx of illegals, driving through LA today is like driving through parts of Mexico. The areas are rundown, dangerous and strewn with garbage. This isn’t America, but it is what the illegals are creating.

We need our country back and we need our immigration laws and national sovereignty enforced and respected instead of political excuses. The cost to taxpayers is outrageous and the refusal by the political elites to take action against the illegal invasion is tantamount to treason.

Politicians are OUR employees!! WE are NOT theirs!! Until we understand that elections are not about popularity contests but are about hiring employees to represent us to the federal, state, or local government, we will continue to get what we have.

If you’re fed up with the status quo, DON’T vote for the most popular person this year, vote for the person who has ethics, convictions and who understands that they are being hired by the PEOPLE to represent the needs of the PEOPLE (who happen to OWN the government, BTW) to whatever government body they are elected to serve.

This year, DON’T listen to the words the candidates speak, DO examine the actions because ACTIONS speak louder than WORDS!! What does each candidate’s record tell you?? THAT’S what you take into the voting booth.

An oil pipeline is bad for environment, but for the illegal alien pipeline I hear crickets.

The State should sanction a hunt

I've often said that 1/2 dozen sniper teams with Barrett 50's - randomly moved around - would do more to stop illegals than a border-full of tall walls.

Looking at photos? LOL! Hows about making the a$$holes clean it up every month until they do something to stop it.

Democrats and Republicans in Washington DC are laughing at this. They love seeing the “little people” being angered and aggravated by this Mexican invasion. This is how evil DC has become. They either don’t care or they like this invasion by the 3rd world. We know the Democrats want to import a new 3rd world electorate. White voters shun Dems for the most part unless they are union members or working in the educational system K-12 and university. These pseudo-intellectuals love Bammy Boy and his ilk

We need to genetically engineer chupacaberas, publicize it and let ‘em loose along the border.

Yeah, and just make them walk around out there unarmed and unprotected at night until they do something about it...

Great idea. When we used to go to the border, we tried to get local elected officials to go with us.

Only two accepted.

I think that pretty much says it all. I wonder if the rest of the country really understands that. I still have family in the southwest, and it worries the heck out of me.
