Mitch McConnell on verge of chance to be Senate majority leader (No Thanks, we'll pick someone else)
LA Times ^ | 1/23/2012 | By Lisa Mascaro

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell operates with a steely resolve, a political discipline that leaves nothing to chance.

A childhood bout with polio instilled in him an enormous capacity for patience. And for 25 years in Congress, the Kentucky Republican has waited for the moment now before him: the chance to become Senate majority leader.

With four seats needed to flip the chamber, or three if a Republican is elected president (because the vice president could break a tie), the GOP has its best opportunity in years to gain full control of Congress.

But McConnell and his party must first overcome the unfinished business weighing them down — an extension of a payroll tax break that is the White House's top legislative priority.

They’ll say what the tea partiers want to hear then screw them when they get what they want. McConnell will be leader if they take the senate. And I’m not sure that will happen.

Heck NO! I would like nothing more than to see McConnell go home - for good! You and me both! He can't retire soon enough for me. Every year he is in office, my view of the people of Kentucky lessens.

Duct tape McConnell to Boehner, take them up in a Huey and drop both of these wimp collaborationists in the Potomac, just off the sewage treatment plant.

When McConnell speaks, eyes glaze over.

Including his own. We need some fire in the belly of our leadership.

‘McConnell,Frist, Lott—one of the reasons Conservatives have had it with the GOP establishment.’
Very true.
These ‘Republican Leaders’ neither represent a desire for good government nor a Conservative philosophy. They are Statists, insider get along go along good ol boys. When there is a possibility for enough Conservative votes for a win, then they fold. If the Conservative position is going to lose, then they posture and pose and prate so they will look good when they stand for reelection.
Senator Jim DeMint is the Conservative leader, but I assure you, he will never, ever be Republican Leader(Majority or Minority).

I think Jim DeMint has plans for that Majority Leader position. Thats why he didn’t want to run for President.

I cast my first vote in 1984 for McConnell and Reagan. I cast my last vote for him last go around. I can’t do it again. He and the rest of the republicans in congress are cheese eating surrender monkeys and put the french to shame.

Please bring on DeMint for majority leader!
