I think it’s time for Newt to release his college transcripts.

Let it be a slow drip, drip, drip.

It appears Newt and Romney are asking for the same thing here ...

In response to lobbying accusations from his opponents Newt Gingrich told me it would be "very helpful" if his former company, Center for Health Transformation, released the consulting contract he had with mortgage giant Freddie Mac before the Florida primary on January 31.

"I think it would be very helpful and our attorneys are talking with the company. You know I left the company so, it's their decision and Nancy Desmond, the president of the company, has to make the decision. But I'd be very comfortable releasing them," he said.

I understand some of your points
but this
A: every scrap of paper is a legit issue for anyone”

newt’s contract with Freddie is not just a scrap pf paper.
If in fact he did give them advice on how to manuver around the Fongress at a time when Freddie was taking us into the abyss that is a pretty big deal
If OTOH newt advised them to change their practices that is a bigger deal and would help Newt

I agree we do not need newt’s master thesis or Mitt’s trip receipts showing he fed and watered his dog

but freddie mac was at the center of the housing downfall

Why?
Romney is just desperate. Should he release all of his business contracts?
It is a stupid demand and Gingrich should just say, “no”.

"Why release something that any moron with half a brain and less than 1% motivational factor can access right now???"

It's a lame counter to Newt asking for Romulan's tax records. Asking for a release makes Mittens look commanding...telling people to go online to look it up would make it appear that he believes Americans are as intelligent as he and his whimsical royal circle.

Newts fannie issue is a non-issue. Obama cannot bring this up considering that he took more fannie/freddie cash than any other person alive in the shortest amount of time. Yet another attempt by the establishment/party boys to trick you into keeping them in charge for another losing presidential election cycle.

Asking for a release makes Mittens look commanding pathetic, demanding, fit throwing two year old, idiotic, petty, desperate, ridiculous, moronic but certainly not commanding.

That’s like asking a cop for his badge number while he’s busting you for child molestation.

Why doesn't Romeny instead do something more effective? Frin'stince, he could bake a cake and put on it the words: "Release the Freddie Mac Contracts!"

That's the difference between Romney & Newt.

It makes not whit of sense for Romney to fight about releasing his tax records, but he does.

It is perfectly sensible, OTOH, that Newt not be able to immediately or at all release records that he has no right or ability to release.

And in the case of Newt's relationship with Freddie Mac, Romney either knew or should have known that release of the record is not entirely up to Gingrich; and ought to have anticipated that Gingrich would be in Romney's camp on the request, asking for release. Romney's demand, the way it is phrased, can do nothing to help Romney. It makes him out as an idiot, yet again. And Newt can make this point very easily in tonight's debate.

Newt is coming off as having nothing to hide, and Romney is coming off as bitter and uninformed.

“lets get every scrap pf paper about each of them out there”

Why? Obama’s not in any position to criticize others for withholding documentation.

I stand corrected..it makes his camp think he looks commanding. Don't give them any clues about what we really think. LOL

Actually, Fannnie Mae was at the center and Freddie Mac not so much. Having said that, I agree that Fannie and Freddie are a major issue. But Newt’s part was not major.

If someone really wanted to get to the bottom of it, Chris Dodd and Barney Frank and Franklin Raines and Jamie Gorelick are where to go. Not Newt.

Thus, this is just a sideshow. Like Bain, just a side show.

Two simple reasons for Newt’s SC victory:

#1 The people loathe Obama and how he has wrecked our country
#2 The people loathe the main stream media for protecting Obama and the Leftists.

And Newt articulates this loathing better than anyone

Nothing more; nothing less than this

I have no issue with this per se, but CAN he release them? Or are they bound by some type of nondisclosure agreement?

I was thinking the same. Perhaps he could say Freddie Mac has his permission to release the contract and his report if they care to. That would toss the ball over to the Democrats.
