Romney camp calls for Gingrich to release Freddie Mac contracts (you can smell the desperation)

Looking to slow Newt Gingrich's momentum from his victory in the South Carolina primary, Mitt Romney's presidential team called Monday for Mr. Gingrich to release the consulting contracts he held with Freddie Mac.

The Romney camp suggested that Mr. Gingrich is trying to cover up the fact that he lobbied members of Congress on behalf of the mortgage housing giant, which reportedly paid him more than a million dollars — though the Georgia Republican says he advised them as a "historian."

He should release them as well as any report he submitted to Fannie or Freddie.

Then Romney has to release ALL the contracts he ever worked under.

Newt said loud and clear that he was not a lobbyist and that Romney should stop using the term.

I have no problem with asking newt for this.
he is only making an issue of Romney’s tax returns because he thinks he can use them to make Romney look bad.

lets get every scrap pf paper about each of them out there and take away anything 0dumbo could use
then lets hammer 0dumbo on everything including his conn socal security number.

i will support either Mitt or newt

Romney would be better served by demanding release of all records pertaining to actions by Franklin Raines and Jamie Gorelick while they were at Fannie Mae.

How about you release the records of your time as.governor and explain why you went on shopping spree to purchase as many computers that were used during your tenure.

I have no issue with this per se, but CAN he release them? Or are they bound by some type of nondisclosure agreement?

No no no. We should not accept the template that

A: every scrap of paper is a legit issue for anyone
B: that we’ll release everything and Obama nothing
C: that anyone gives a damn about this

Mitt is not trying to win. He is simply trying to depress the Newt vote. He knows not a single new person will come to Mtt over this. He simply hopes some will leave Newt.

Let’s see the details from Romney’s Cayman accounts while we’re at it. Let the sun shine in.

Desperation?

No.

Gingrich said he was hired only as an historian for FM/FM. If true, the contract sould confirm that.

I think the issue is that there are legally binding confidentiality clauses.

but...but...but.... aren’t these here contracts and records already accessable to the public? Why release something that any moron with half a brain and less than 1% motivational factor can access right now???

My thoughts, too. Maybe that’s what Mitt is up to...And how will it prove lobbying?? which is what Mitt is “surmising”.

Release! Release! Release!

Let’s make this the year of the Release of Records. Yes. Let’s do it.

And, eventually — Republicans can sit back and say ...”Well, they all now know everything about us, Obama.”

“How about YOU? You gonna release a few records that everyone has been wondering about?”
