>> and Newt has a few scores to settle and they don’t want him in their china shop.<<

That’s a fantastic point and what really makes him the ultimate outsider. Not only does he not owe any of them favors but because they showed him no favoritisms he is in a position to “get things done” without worrying about who might feel like he’s not “paying them back” for favors they did him.

The down ballot disaster these consultants fear is CONSERVATIVES WINNIG, and firing their RINO arses. It’s all about the establishment playing gluteus-protectus - and those consultants fear losing the power they have.

“GOP Strategist: Republican Establishment Fears Down-Ballot Disaster If Newt Wins Nomination”

Great strategizing by the party boy.

So let’s run Ford/Dole/Bush/McCain/Romney, right? That’ll solve all the problems.

Actually, when Republicans have listened to “GOP strategists” it has been a disaster. When they’ve found out what the strategists recommend and then do the opposite, like in 2010, there are incredible conservative gains.

The “Republican Establishment” is one of the key players in the destruction of this country.

Yes the “Republican Establishment” wants to be able to spend and benefit just like the other side and not be accountable for it.

What the republican establishment fears, is prison time.

"Schmidt is the one responsible for all the bad Palin press coming out during the MeCain/Palin 2008 campaign."

Yep. And I guarantee that if Gingrich or Santorum gets the nomination, he will try like mad to torpedo their chances.

He is very bad news.

They’re the ones endorsing or supporting Mitt Romney.

The thing the Republican elite keep overlooking is that unless Mittens does something drastic to persuade me otherwise, this conservate (and I assume many others) will vote the Constitution Party candidate before I vote for another McCain. The way I see it, conservatives in our country are better served by registering a vote for conservative principles. Another vote for the status quo and the Republican elites will keep putting forth RINOs.

Nothing convinces like success...

err... wait a minute... why is anyone listening to this guy?

What you said. Quite succinctly.

So why do our supposed “conservative spokesmen” like Limbaugh spin and confuse and avoid the obvious conclusions to be drawn from that nonsense story? In two hours of his show, he spun this story the wrong way, spun the Gingrich win the wrong way, called the Pauls terrorists, and took a total of three carefully-screened listener calls, who I’m pretty sure were actors anyway because 1. Hilton Head SC caller said he only voted Gingrich instead of Romney because he liked how Gingrich handled John King in the debate 2. A trucker who Rush allegedly helped turn his life around, and gets a free Ipad for the “call” (is that an example of caller paid to make the host look good?)3. Developer allegedly angry with Gingrich for “attacking capitalism”. GIVE ME A BREAK. Limbaugh is a FRAUD!

Now halfway through third hour, the jerk is back to pontificating. Can’t blame the dude for not taking any real calls - people have caught on.

Just the opposite. The Tea Party will turn out in waves to vote and pull the straight “R” ticket. Look at the 30% increase in SC over 2008.

A Mitt con-job into the nomination keeps the base un-inspired and that 30% stays home.

It is for sure that Newt has had a low favor ability nationally, but that has something to do with the media. They pounced on him while he was the Speaker of the House.

One thing we cannot deny is that he took this nation by storm with the Contract With America back in 1994.

I fully expect him to reintroduce something like it this year and have house and senate candidates pledge to complete the items on the contract if elected to a majority.

Clinton was able to use the economy as the strength of his platform two times (i.e., “it's the economy, stupid”). We are worse off now than we were four years ago, so Newt can simply steal the economic agenda from Obama and trounce him with it.

If Newt really pushes for lower taxes, cutting waste and balancing the budget, we will win this thing running away. Another thing I want to see is a pledge to stop adding pork, and the introduction of a constitutional amendment to that same effect. Sure, he has some areas that some don't like, but he is an amazing organizer, and will get us out of this mess.

“That’s a fantastic point and what really makes him the ultimate outsider. “

What I don’t understand is why he doesn’t use that in his talking points. It was the elitists who forced him out...with Boehner instrumental in it.

PLUS, he did not “pay fines” he resigended, paid for costs and ws later exonerated by the IRS.

These corrupt bastards in DC think they will continue to own us and we now have one of the oxes they gored on our side. They should be VERY afraid. Newt’s a bastard, he really is, but he’s OUR BASTARD.

Newt has a record, and it isn’t conservative.

You're probably right, but at least he's never tried to socialize medicine.

I'll take him any day no matter how he's framed. He gets the job done, says what needs to be said..and I honestly believe he will do so even if it means he might loose this election, though of course we are hoping the way is made for him that he doesn't.

The thing is Newt's exposing everything we have wanted exposed and he's not afraid to name names. I pray God's protection for him because he's ruffling a lot of feathers as he goes...and it needs the doing of! I hope he "shaves" them all to the bone!

It is quaint how they think that if Romney is the nominee that we are all expected to vote for him no matter what?

They haven’t even given it a thought yet, that if we pick another, we expect them to vote for our nominee.

If people wanted Romney, he would be winning everything now.

Their goofy small minds can’t even comprehend it yet.

Someone on another board pointed out that neither Newt nor Santorum have qualified as a candidate in enough states to take the nomination. If Romney does not win, it will have to be a brokered convention. As I understand it, that means that any candidate can be pushed forward. This person was speculating that it would be Jeb Bush.
