Not to worry. Mitt can't feel emotions like you and I can. He has to pretend he feels them.

Our anger with the Fascist pigs like Pelosi is palpable ~ but not to Romney.

The Republican Establishment has been bashing Conservatives from the get-go.

The Republican Establishment does not like Palin,Bachmann, Cain, or Perry. Instead of building up good conservative candidates, the Establishment aids and abets the media in tearing them down.

The Republican Establishment would much rather be like European Conservative Parties that are nothing more Liberal Lite Parties.

Good for Newt. It will be interesting to see how other conservative pundits analyze the situation.

Oh, I completely agree w you. Mitt is a phony’s phony, and as plastic as the fruit on Carmen Miranda’s hats. My issue is w Rush giving Mitt good campaign advice. If Rush realizes that Mitt is the Establishment candidate and that the Establishment is the problem, why would he want Mitt to figure out what he’s doing wrong and correct it?

Don’t know, but they are wrong.

During the primaries Rush is a student of the game. He does not support one candidate over the other. He will express his opinion on what a candidate needs to do to win, but he spreads the advice around to all.

What “they “-...the DC Establishment/RinoCracy does NOT want is a Gingrich Presidency to have the power to do what Gingrich SAYS he will do...dismantle DC.

Which means DC HAS to have a Democrat Senate if a Gingrich Presidency occurs.

Statistically DC/RinoCracy sees a looming disaster as a Republican Senate is all but assured this fall....

The support among the Republican base for Newt is late coming, and reluctant, but it is based on the very hard fact that, for all his flaws, Newt seems to be the best choice left. Most of us agree that reelection Obama would be euthanasia for the American Dream. But the GOP Establishment doesn't understand that many view the election of Romney as hospice care for the American Dream. I'm not at all confident that Newt can cure what ails America, but he will try. And he does have a record of (1994) of pulling off big wins that the GOP Establishment never thought would happen.

There is a school of thought, among lawyers, that when preparing for a jury trial, one should begin with closing arguments. That sound backwards, but by writing the closing argument you must make to win the case, you clarify the questions you must ask, and evidence you must introduce -- or exclude -- at trial, so everything that occurs in the trial (if things go well) will insure that you get to deliver the winning closing argument you have already written.

In 1992, 1996 and 2008, the GOP nominated guys who seemed to start preparing for their campaign by writing their concession speech, and then doing what it took to make sure that they got to deliver it. I see Romney as continuing that tradition.

Mitt has a large staff. They have some smart people. Rush didn’t give away anything they don’t already know.

He's full of crap that all they want is control of the money. They want to win and just think American dumbkoffs will respond better to a "moderate". That's ridiculous, but its an honest difference of strategy.

Rush is really damaging us with this "establishment vs conservative" crap. We have to keep everyone together or we really are doomed.

Rush is right of course. He usually has his finger on the pulse of the Conservative Americans and not the establishment Republicans who are acting more like Democrats every day.

All Gingrich has to do now is keep attacking, attack Obama, attack the progressive media and he can not only win the nomination but take the White House and help keep this country free.

Re: Republican Establishment

Can anyone list two or three of the top names in this Establishment?

You know, the people or organizations who “forced” Romney, McCain, Dole, and GHW Bush onto us poor little helpless Conservatives?

I thought Conservatives got outvoted?

And please don’t use the “Open Primaries” excuse.

Anytime the GOP or Conservatives want “Closed Primaries,” we can have them.

How?

We can pay for our own primaries.

Today, state taxpayers pay for our primaries, so we have to obey state government rules.

Rush is on to the fact that Romney simply relies on "platitudes" to express his feelings about America and its founders.

That is not enough. Dr. Thomas Sowell's column, posted on another thread provides his excellent summary of South Carolina.

Isn't it reassuring that one can trust the intellect, wisdom, and understanding of Sowell to see beyond the armchair pundits and politicians to the heart of the Gingrich appeal in South Carolina?

Brit Hume's always wise-sounding, but this time shallow, "analysis" concluded that it was just the points in the "debates" and that "debating" won't carry the day in the November elections. Others, who clearly are trying to mold our minds to their wills, say it's just that Newt expresses our "anger," and that his "negatives" make him undesirable as a candidate.

Yes, the so-called "progressives" and their domination of education's failures have succeeded in "dumbing us down"--but not that far down.

We still, as South Carolinians proved, can think for ourselves, and we can "get" the difference between someone who can articulate the great ideas of America's Founders' Constitution and someone who has to rely on memorized phrases like "private sector," "hope of the earth," and verses from "America, the Beautiful," to fill in what should be thoughtul, substantive debate on how to defeat the ideology of Obama and save American liberty, in all its dimensions.

What American voters need between now and November is a clear articulation of the first principles underlying freedom for individuals in a society. If that can happen, then the ideas of Marx and other sources of redistribution and oppression will be exposed and rejected. Florida voters now may help to decide who has displayed a likely ability to accomplish that task.

South Carolinians decided already.

As Dr. Sowell indicates, it is a "make or break" decision for "the future of this country."

"Go ahead, Rush. Tell Mitt how to stay competitive."

He may tell Mittens the gameplan, but he will never be able to get Romney to EXECUTE the gameplan, because he's incapable.

Kind of like saying the key to winning the election is to get the most votes, or winning the big game is by getting the more points than your opponent.

All Gingrich has to do now is keep attacking, attack Obama, attack the progressive media and he can not only win the nomination but take the White House and help keep this country free.

I disagree with this strategy on two fronts:

First, he should make sure he patches some of the holes in his own boat. He should make sure he's clean on things like the Global Warming Scam, and on the role of confiscated taxpayer's money used in the housing market.

Second, he can't just attack and apologize for his misgivings: Any candidate that wants to not just win, but have a mandate to fix the problems that are killing this country MUST have a REAL AND WORKABLE PLAN to show the electorate.

This is a big part why Cain - a political neophyte - did so well. 9-9-9 wasn't perfect, but it was A PLAN!

Rightly or wrongly, fairly or unfairly, Romney is the symbol of the GOP establishment to millions of conservatives. For the first time ever the establisment’s support may actually be the kiss of death for a candidate.

From the article, (don't want any non article readers thinking I'm quoting you):

Romney, if he has a prayer here, is gonna have to figure conservatism out. He's gonna have to able to articulate it like he believes it, loves it, and understands it

Romney will never be able to "articulate" conservatism because he doesn't "believe" it, doesn't "love" it and will never "understand" it. It is not something the phony bastard can fake.

Conservatism is a deeply held belief that every Conservative member of this forum and every Conservative member of the general public knows, loves and understand and cannot be fooled by the utterly fake Mitt Romney.

Conservative people all over the country have finally decided on the conservative (not perfect) candidate that can and will beat Romney and obama to a pulp.

When this thing started, Newt was probably about my fourth choice, after Palin, Cain and Perry but now I'm behind him 100%! I hope that every Conservative in the country arrives at the same conclusion and the sooner the better and we can all breath a collective sigh of relief. Lots of "high Fives" and back slapping all over F.R. and all over the nation.
