Oh, those poor oppressed poor! They even have more trouble quitting smoking! How awful.

(Pssst - don't tell anyone, but the bad choices and lack of self discipline that made them poor may also be why they smoke, rather than the "accident" of being poor being a causal factor)

Not just a lack of self discipline but a lack of economic discipline. If you are poor and spending money on cigarettes, you're not really concerned without changing your situation. Money spent on cigs could be better spent elsewhere.

The major cost of cigarettes are taxes........I thought that YOU, as a so called CONSERVATIVE, had a problem with taxation?

Or is this simply one of those "pick and choose what I wish to support" types of issues?

I'm sure you have a problem with gasoline taxes don't you?
