Debate Winner: Mitch Daniels JAN 23, 2012

BY WILLIAM KRISTOL

I’ve got to think Monday night’s debate further swelled the groundswell of support for Mitch Daniels. The liveliest part of the debate was at the beginning, when Mitt went after Newt—and Republicans all over America watched with fascinated horror at the thought that these are the two GOP frontrunners.

The only spectacle in American politics more off-putting than Newt Gingrich in self-righteous defense mode is Mitt Romney in self-righteous attack mode. I thought Mitt’s attacks were somewhat more dishonest than Newt’s defenses were disingenuous, but it was good to move on to the rest of the debate, where little further damage was done.

“Um....groundswell? Really? Where?”

Hey idiot, didn’t you hear the audience chanting MITCH, MITCH, MITCH, all night?

....hmmm, neither did I.

What Trust-Fund Child is really saying is that The ESTABLISHMENT has given up on Romney and now wants Daniels to try to stop us Tea Party animals from taking over.

What I didn’t see in Trust-Fund’s column was any mention of the drug-dealing ring that was run out of Daniels’ apartment while he was in college (which caused him to get arrested). It was a BIG-TIME operation...yet Mitch knew nothing about it? Yea, right.

If Newt is carrying around a lot of baggage, Daniels is carrying around a semi-truck.

Well gee that will certainly address the $16T debt that will crush the country. Hey I feel better—let’s call it a day and head for the bar......

There’s no groundswell for Daniels outside of the same corridor that shoved Mitt Romney on the world. But I do agree with the disenchantment over these two as frontrunners. If FR wishes to support one of them I’ll respect the site’s wishes. But the reason I gave my first vote in a presidential election to a long shot Republican by the name of Bob Dole is because Clinton and the lengths people went to defend him solely because he suited their poltical needs disgusted me. Character matters and neither of these two or Obama has it.

More importantly when is Kristol going to have his Inappropriate Smiling Syndrome problem corrected?

For the last time...

Mitch won’t run, due to the skeletons in his closet.
He would, however, make a helluva good Sec of Commerce, Treasury, or OMB director.

A ground swell for another RINO who wants to have a “truce” on social issues? Not hardly.

I’ve got to think Monday night’s debate further swelled the groundswell of support for Mitch Daniels.

No one except inside the beltway dopes like Kristol are excited by this milquetoast cuckold. Unfortunately for Bill, Mitch's wife makes all the decisions and she doesn't want her OMB hack to play in the big leagues.

What happened? Kristol used to be a huge Mittens homer. Is he in love with new RINO now?

Bill Crystal has lost his mind. They tried to float Mitch in the beginning and the response was tepid at best. He’s about as exciting as watching paint dry.

The GOP establishment is so afraid of someone being elected who will actually attempt to restore the consititutional republic they will do anything to stop it.

They can forget it; there will be no brokered convention. Either Newt or RINO-Rom will be the GOP nominee; not Mitch Daniels or anyone else.

The little smiley faced Bill Kristol obviously is in the anybody but Newt camp just like the rest of the elitist RINO stooges.
