A 15-year-old Wisconsin boy who wrote an op-ed opposing gay adoptions was censored, threatened with suspension and called ignorant by the superintendent of the Shawano School District, according to an attorney representing the child.
Mathew Staver, the founder of the Liberty Counsel, sent a letter to Superintendent Todd Carlson demanding an apology for Its unconstitutional and irrational censorship and humiliation of Brandon Wegner.
Wegner, a student at Shawano High School, was asked to write an op-ed for the school newspaper about whether gays should be allowed to adopt. Wegner, who is a Christian, wrote in opposition. Another student wrote in favor of allowing gays to adopt.
Wegner used Bible passages to defend his argument, including Scripture that called homosexuality a sin.
After the op-ed was published, a gay couple whose child attend s the high school, complained.
The school immediately issued an apology stating Wegners opinion was a form of bullying and disrespect.

Need to turn the tables and use the old ACLU attack plan.
Sue them for civil rights violation.
Teacher individually and the school itself.
Logic and reason conceded to homosexual “rights” proponents?
Huh??? Sodomy doesn’t mix with logic and reason anymore than it does with Biblical morality.
Isn’t policing someone’s conscience a form of bullying and disrespect.
Excellent and well said.
Not so. There are plenty of Big Government Christians who would tell you how to live and think and delightedly so. It’s to your benefit.
Note that you immediately call for a Mod (FR local sheriff) in the face of a superior and every effective argument.
Strange argument to make when you consider the fact that the same Founders who fought against tyranny and big government also legislated against sodomy. Perhaps they didn’t understand that prohibiting “crimes against nature” violated the proper relationship between government and the people?
What they did understand - and what religiophobic “conservatives” fail to - is that the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God are inescapable. The same Natural Law that grants to mankind the rights to life, etc. and blesses nations which adhere to it, also destroys nations which rebel against it.
You think we can just pick and choose which parts of Natural Law to follow and which to reject, and still be safe from any consequences? Fighting against “socialism, communism, Hillarycare/Obamacare, school lockdown, TSA rapes, and everything else” while ignoring the wickedness running rampant is like thinking a wholesome meal will counter the effects of poison.
“Note that you immediately call for a Mod (FR local sheriff) in the face of a superior and every effective argument.”
I called for the moderator because the speaker was using left-wing (demoncat) and extreme libertarian arguments. As I understand Jim Robinson, that isn’t supposed to take place of FR. Plus, he was using the pejorative “Bible-Thumper” to describe a poster. This is NOT supposed to be a forum for bashing Bible believing Christians. The poster expressed his views based upon the Bible and was castigated for it. I normally wouldn’t enter on of these “frays” because they go nowhere fast. When the secular mindset meets the Christian one, there is going to be friction.
When a student can’t even, upon solicitation, express their Christian viewpoint in a High School newspaper in a point counter point format without it causing an uproar. Something is terribly wrong in this country.
I don’t want to “force” a person with a secular viewpoint to accept “Christianity” - that is a choice. However, I do expect them to avoid unnecessary insults (AKA Bible Thumper). They don’t belong here. His argument, about the meaning of “natural law” would have been better received without the superfluous insults intended to express disdain. Personal insults are NOT allowed here.
We used to call this FELONY EXTORTION, Why hasn’t this CRIMINAL BEEN ARRESTED???
It is bullying creeps like the super that make the spineless moderates bow under the mere threat of political correctness.
Personal insults, sadly, are allowed here and have been for a long time, contrary to original and now unenforced code of conduct. Vulgarity is more and more tolerated even in conservative circles.
