Sen. Rick Santorum has no viable path to victory and brings no new issues or ideas to the table. He no longer serves a purpose, or has a justification to remain in the race.
Santorum has no viable claim that he is more conservative or more electable than Gingrich. He has no viable claim that he will be better in raising money, in organization, or would do a better job as president. There is simply no path for him. Further — despite winning Iowa, Santorum lost badly in NH and SC, and has no means to complete in FL. It is time for him to leave.
The Santorum campaign probably thought, prior to SC, that it had a chance to win values voters. SC results show that those voters went to Gingrich over Santorum, despite an all-out values attack against Gingrich. SC should have put an end to that thinking. There simply is no path for Santorum.
It is time for him to drop out. Hopefully to support Gingrich. It is best for Santorum to quit while he is in a respectable position. Now is that time.

So, you're saying that Newt is a RINO, or worse? I don't believe that for a second.
He is a decent guy.

You may be right, but it’s possible Rick will see that supporting Newt is best for the country and that it’s the right thing to do.

I suspect he would disagree strongly with that statement. He should get out so the conservative vote is not diluted. But I suspect he is an establishment conservative who cant stomach Newt..
The Beltway GOP club is so desperate to have their guy that they’ll cut Santorum off at the knees, call Romney out with a broken vocal cord and send in another good little 3rd stringer. To keep power and cocktail parties well stocked and dental whitening, botox and offshore accounts flush with their in crowd.
I have to laugh when you call me stupid. I am for Newt for one thing. However your comprehension is so bad that you could not even realize it. You jump on me for saying it is good for Santorum to stay in. Well he is an American citizen and over 35 so of course he can stay in if he wants. Secondly, you ask ME why Santorum is still in the race. Again you call me stupid after asking that question......why don’t you ask him. I have no idea. I guess he wants to be President of the United States. Sheesh. You are mighty thick if you don’t know that answer.
How do you figure? Romey's campaign had spend approximately $7 million dollars in Florida, as of day before yesterday, and Gingrich's campaign just paid for a $6 million dollar ad buy there.
That's not even close to 20 to 1. Are you perhaps referring to the total cash outlays between Romney and Gingrich over the course of the whole campaign?
How do you figure that? Every respectable poll but one, shows Newt leading in the Florida primary. Have they all flipped overnight?

That’s still a possibility. I think though Santorum throws his support behind who he thinks will appoint him to something. He helps Romney a little in Fla, that shows where he’s leaning

Generally by the time it is time for a candidate to drop out, it doesn’t matter whether they do or not, because it’s the voters who drop the candidates.

If Newt loses Florida, he's in trouble. If Newt wins Florida, then I can see him winning Super Tuesday and racing for the nomination. A lot is riding on his Florida performance.

You could very well be the difference between Rick getting 12.915% or 12.916% of the vote there! It will make you feel better as you watch the returns come in with Newt and Mitt in a dead heat for all of the delegates, and no winner declared at 2:00 a.m.
After all, look at Iowa: a few votes can’t possibly make a difference.

I do not disagree with your assessment. I also am not suggesting that Santorum should be the Nominee, what I am saying is he is a decent man and why should he drop out just yet? Don’t misunderstand, I want a Pitbull to go after Obama not just a nice guy. Would’t it be great if there was such a candidate? Nice Guy Pitbull!
