Just guessing here, but perhaps Santorum is hanging on as the alternate conservative for us were Newt to pull one of his infamous gaffes - always likely with him. Wrong Paul can never be the alternate for us, he is a liberaltarian not a conservative.

Why should he? We’ve just begun and if Newt has a melt down, someone has to pick the ball and run. I think its more interesting this way, at least until after super Tuesday. Hope he has enough money to hold on for awhile longer. He is a decent guy.

Romney should drop out. He has no path to victory, because even if he wins the general, we all lose.

“He has no viable claim that he will be better in raising money, in organization, or would do a better job as president”

I suspect he would disagree strongly with that statement. He should get out so the conservative vote is not diluted. But I suspect he is an establishment conservative who cant stomach Newt..

The Beltway GOP club is so desperate to have their guy that they’ll cut Santorum off at the knees, call Romney out with a broken vocal cord and send in another good little 3rd stringer. To keep power and cocktail parties well stocked and dental whitening, botox and offshore accounts flush with their in crowd.

At this moment Santorum has the best stance on immigration. An incredibly important issue for me as a Californian that I cannot ignore. See the link below for the latest rankings by NumbersUSA.

Generally by the time it is time for a candidate to drop out, it doesn’t matter whether they do or not, because it’s the voters who drop the candidates.

Once Santy quits, the FR Newt haters will have nowhere to hide, and pretend they’re NOT for Mittens or Paul.

I hope Rick STAYS IN!

Elliot Abram’s article about Newt today will be DEVASTATING to Newt.. It KILLS ANY chance I had of voting for Newt in a primary.

Steady Rick could win this thing by default.. if he just continues to espouse conservative principles.. and, grows a PAIR... and starts attacking Mitt.

The libs are saying, I will vote for Romney, not Newt.

I pray that he leaves the race and throws his complete support behind Newt Gingrich.

I disagree. Gingrich has a lot of problems even though he currently has the tea party all a twitter. They are hoping he is who he says he is. But what if something deal breaking comes
Out?

Santorum is trustworthy and does actually have good character.

He would make a president that we would not regret havin g voted for. Gingrich might just be using us to fulfill his narcissistic fantasies. I remain concerned. And Santorum is really honing his message at this big table. He is ready and will rise tO the occasion.

Look for Mondays headline complete with the Newtbump on Tuesday; regardless of who / if Rick chooses to endorse.

Who would Santorum endorse if he did drop out?

He has been criticizing Gingrich harshly.
