Santorum is a much better conservative than Newt is.

No he's not. They are both about 90% conservative and 10% liberal.

I never said there were necessarily fetal cells involved. I said I did not know. I did say the brochure is an overtly moderate to liberal document over all and that is the case. I also put out the bill number so folks could look it up.

Oh, sure. BTW, I'm in the mood to buy a bridge.

BIG Stem cell supporter (ahem Mr. Pro Life) {from post 34}

Thanks for looking that up. At least now we know the context.

You can beat this dead horse all you want-on one issue-but there are 50 items on this brochure and a good 25-30 of them are totally liberal. And on the stem cell issue, it was clearly couched to appeal to liberals.

Nothing you can say that will change any of that.

Do you know what “half” is? I don’t think that word means what you think it means, given how you used it.

Or do you think that his wife being a career woman is a liberal thing?

Of course. It’s Gingrich who supported embryonic stem cell research, not Santorum.

50 items, something like 15-18 blatantly liberal, another 5-6 that are the non issues like the wife working, another handful that could be interpreted either way, maybe 10 or so - and then the rest sort of conservative. So in essence, if not in literal math, in over all feel and essence.

There are at least 5 million folks that would vote for Ricky over his rhetorical support of life and family issues.

I understand that. It's a passionate, sincere and heartfelt moral issue. Fundamental to be a human being created in the image of God.

However, Ricky's rhetorical support of these issues does not always equate to HOW HE VOTES.

And, to top it off, when you do look beyond the immediate issues of life Ricky is a statist. Plain and simple.

He would use the power of state and all that Congress has treasonously given POTUS to do his will with our money.

Santorum is looking like a fraud to me.

Thank you, I will. I can also do a pretty mean one note samba.

If I had a dime for every time you’ve used the word “sanctimonious,” I could have my OWN stash in the Cayman Islands.

"He went down in 06 as as moderate weenie."

That's why we must endeavor to eliminate Santorum from the race.

90% of his votes will go to the only viable candidate: Newt.

Gingrich was conservative in the 80s, and most of the 90s.

Make the list of conservative issues in this decade, and list where Gingrich was on those issues in this decade, and he’s not much of a conservative. For TARP. For letting illegal immigrants stay in the country. For medicare prescription drug program. For carbon trading. For government solutions to global warming. For DeDe Scozafosa. Thought Ryan’s budget was right-wing social engineering.

Or the past three weeks. Criticized TWICE by the Club For Growthm, first for attacking Bain Capital, and then for claiming that people who invest their hard-earned money are “making money for no work”.

Most of FR knew in May that Gingrich wasn’t very conservative anymore. Now it’s all different.

Santorum was quick to lecture Newt about unconstitutional laws. Yet this list of his documents his support of numerous unconstitutional initiatives.

That’s fine, except Gingrich is certainly as much of a statist as Santorum ever was. Gingrich is still pushing government solutions to our problems.

Perry was the non-statist in the contest, but we rejected him because he said we were “heartless”. Now Gingrich says we are “inhumane”, but there’s nobody else left to go to, so we are stuck with Newt.

But some people don’t like to feel they are stuck, so they insist the Newt is the true conservative we have all been waiting for. Earlier today another freeper castigated me and others for “idolizing” Ronald Reagan, and insisted that Gingrich was more conservative than Reagan was.

That is the delusion of one who can’t accept the reality that we are all willing to compromise to stop Romney.

"Yet this list of his documents his support of numerous unconstitutional initiatives. "

And is absolute and incontrovertible proof of his hypocrisy. Let any man or woman stand in front of their Freeper brethren and testify otherwise.

There's no doubt all of us wanted Sarah.

Newt is the next best thing.

I don’t think there is a fraudulent drop of blood in Santorum. I believe you are mistaken.

Newt is the next best thing.

If we value somebody who can enter the arena of ideas and rhetoric, we must choose a communicator. Those who cannot stir passion articulately cannot advance our causes...and certainly cannot win.

Sure, 30% of the citizens of the USA would be a better office holder than each and every politician today. But that is not a choice we have.

While we are in a battle between good and evil, we have to take once piece of dirt at a time.

A similar list could be made about Santorum's liberal transgressions over the past 15 years. Most here are familiar with them. Shall I post them for you?
