The TEA Party of Florida endorsed Newt Gingrich in the Florida presidential primary, saying the former House speaker has "articulated direct and serious steps designed to reduce spending, cut our deficits, pay down our national debt, and return liberty to our citizens in doing so."
Reconstituted from the party whose candidates garnered 310,000 votes in 20 races in 2010, TEA is pursuing a broader outreach strategy this year.
Chairman John Long said that in addition to fielding its own slate of candidates, the party plans to endorse like-minded candidates from the major parties in other selected races.
"People ask us, 'Who is the TEA Party?' and we say, 'You are,'" Long stated.
"When you speak out against out-of-control spending and officials that refuse to act responsibly with our money, you are the TEA Party.'"
The 310,000 votes received by TEA (Taxed Enough Already) candidates in 2010 was the third largest total of any party in the state.
He lost here to McCain, and that's before most people knew he was a douchebag.
Newt and Rick did great

To know that you think so gives me some comfort; seriously. I went to bed last night so bummed out over Newt’s performance. After reading what you said this morning, I feel better. Maybe I was expecting too much. Listening to the “talking heads” afterward didn’t help. They all said, more or less, that RINO-Rom creamed Newt and that RINO-Rom will win FL.
Thanks for giving me an encouraging word.
My thoughts too.....Plus: what can we do from our computers to help?
What is the ground game like?
IMHO I hear Newt is knocking the skin of the ball on the Stump.
This ground game tactic of talking about Space (and other issues) is brilliant as they say "all politics is local"...
He has taken it on the chin in the Media and didn't do as well as we would have liked last night but...
Tea Party Intensity IMHO could overcome RINO Republican Reptile pomposity...
What do you see and hear?
It is difficult to discern who you are supporting... ;-D
Never stop kicking against the pricks!!!
AND BE WELL... GOD love ya'!
Newt loves Americans.
Yea, that would be nice buddy.
The TPX is active in a lot of areas, but can’t be everywhere at the same time.
They are in WI constantly, and in DC when needed. Just always with a bus.
They’re doing as much as they can!
I talked to Newt again last nite, he spoke at our rally after his event at the Kravitz center.
