Jeb to Newt: Stop the ‘Ridiculous’ Crist Talk
National Review ^ | January 27, 2012 | Robert Costa

Posted on 01/27/2012 8:28:07 AM PST by Qbert

Jacksonville, Fla. — Former Florida governor Jeb Bush tells National Review Online that Newt Gingrich should stop insinuating that Mitt Romney aides, due to their past work for Charlie Crist, are part of a moderate GOP conspiracy.

Earlier this week, for example, Gingrich told supporters that Romney hired Crist staffers, and emphasized the significance of this fact. “We discovered last night that Mitt Romney has picked up Charlie Crist’s campaign manager,” Gingrich said. “I thought that told you everything you need to know about this primary.”

“That’s not a serious accusation,” Bush says. “Candidates win elections. I’m not a big Charlie Crist fan, as you recall, but these guys shouldn’t have that moniker attached to them, as if Governor Romney is part of some evil plot. That’s ridiculous.”

Technically speaking Jeb is not a RINO. He may well be a Mexican.

The Bushes are all alike. Reagan’s biggest mistake was probably putting Bush 41 on the ticket.

I know he's obviously for Romney, but I would ask Jeb- if you're going to play this holier than thou role, the "neutral mediator" role, or whatever this supposedly is... what are you going to do then to stop these hit jobs and coordinated attacks? I don't mean just rhetoric- I mean actions.

(Of course I don't expect very much to happen.)

More like their Maglev Line where they spend all their spare cash ('cause Mitt ain't spending his own on this), waste the energy of all their professional campaign aides, and bore the tears out of the voting base of the Republican party.

They then lift right off the ground and fall over in the ditch.

I’m kinda busy now defrosting my Fortress of Solitude, but if you think it’s important—let me put my cape on and I’ll be right there ...

Up, up and away! Adjusting costume/uniform @ Mach2.
Dang, I hate it when my tights ride-up.

Are you serious? They won’t get on board. They never had any intention of being part of...they want total control.

You’ll see em fleeing in droves if Newt wins the Nomination.

Bunch of Jumping Jimmy Jeffords.

Like Ole Bob Dole. He did good at being a Bitch to the Demonrats all the years he was in Congress. It wasn’t until
he assumed a Majority leadership role did he fail miserably and he sold out the movement in the 90’s. He enjoyed being bent over and politically gang raped by the Democrats.

Like I said, cynical. I've so over the Republican Party at this point I don't think any of my money is going to any of their candidates.

The whole sorry thing reminds me of that joke about the guy who picks up a hitchhiker. The hitchhiker pulls a gun on him, forces him to pull over and take off all his clothes, then ties his wrists to his ankles and leaves him there, naked and hunched over on the side of the road. The poor guy is wondering what he's going to do, when suddenly out of nowhere a cop car pulls up and, to the guy's immense relief, a cop steps out and walks toward him. "Officer!" cries the grateful man, "am I glad to see you! I gave this guy a ride, and he pulled a gun on me, and took my car, and left me just like this." At which point the cop pulls down his zipper and says, "Boy ... this just ain't your day!"

Just another bush pimping for himself.

Wait until there are still 4 candidates and no one has enough to get the nomination, then the pubbies will come forth with the savior, Bush III.

He is perfect, his wife is a mesican, his daughter is a druggy, his beautiful son, Jorge, has 57 white teeth {or is it 50?} and he has pappy and GWB with him.

I am going to be sick.

Dole knuckled under during the budget standoff and left Gingrich twisting in the wind. Many think thats what led to Newts plunge in popularity & subsequent departure from congress.

Evil plot? Sounds like those are Jeb's words, not Newt's. So now Newt's not allowed to simply state a fact without the Rinos crying foul?

I appreciate W more & more for keeping quiet.

I do too, but in all fairness, W probably also knows that his endorsement could do more harm than good (mostly unfairly, but there it is).

or it could be that Crist was using elitist staffers and Jeb and cronies use them.

Jeb is best served by sitting back, shutting up, and staying out of this.

Crist staffers MATTER.

we do not need another effete in office.

it is bad enough crist’s appointee is running for the senate.
