CALIFORNIA: Supreme Court validation of maps could give Democrats two-thirds Senate majority
Sacramento Bee ^ | 1/28/12 | Jim Sanders

A California Supreme Court ruling Friday significantly raised Democratic Party prospects of gaining the supermajority needed in the state Senate to pass tax or fee increases.

The high court decided that Senate maps drawn recently by a 14-member citizens commission will be used for this year's legislative elections, even if a pending referendum qualifies for the ballot.

The decision brought certainty for dozens of prospective Senate candidates awaiting final adoption of the maps as they begin their campaigns. And it offered the commission at least temporary validation that it performed its job as the voters intended.

Political analysts of both parties agree that the commission-drawn lines give Democrats a good chance of capturing the two seats necessary to give them a two-thirds supermajority in the Senate by December.

California Republican Party Chairman Tom Del Beccaro told The Bee this week that retention of the new lines would make it "enormously difficult" to keep Democrats from a Senate supermajority.

You from what I have read and heard, in my opinion, correct. It is time for all producers and those who consider themselves decent individuals to leave. Eventually without the blood [money]of the producers to sustain them the animals and parasites will collapse upon themselves. y. But after the collapse you, should they wish they can return. How long this will take I cannot say. But California is like the rest of the United States. It is going to take a total collapse in order to kill off the parasites. Then the producers can rebuild.

I sometimes wonder if having Obama win a second term wouldn’t be “good” for the country, since, it would, in the end, be a shock to all Americans, and they’d end up hopeless and learning some very huge lessons which many have refused to learn.

If only. Historically, societies tend to spin down to oblivion. There is rarely a second renaissance. Lately, I've begun to feel we've already passed the point of no return. The government may pause, but it will never shrink. It will consume and grow like a metastasized cancer, eventually killing off all productive members of society to feed the ever growing entitlement class. This will continue, right up until the system collapses; then society will plunge into another Dark Age. What a drag. 500 years of bad hygiene, no decent coffee, and a lack of toilet paper.

I feel there is something to your last point. Electing Romney is still a win for big government but carries the additional negatives of a) stealth implementation (because the R behind his name gives him cover to the sheeple) and b) the trashing of the Republican brand because it will be Romney with that R after his name who presides over the collapse. At least Obama is tthe enemy we know.

And now they'll finally have the power they lusted for across the 40 years they've controlled the legislature ... the power to tax without opposition.

CA's debt to GDP ratio is fine. Unfortunate for the rest of the country, CA's economic output is a vital, substantial contributor to national economic health.

CA has millions of subjugated non-Democrats suffering under the tyranny of the Bay Area and L.A.

One can imagine, with unchecked power, CA will become the worst of all Democrat strong holds on taxation, on regulation, on nannystate-ism, on oppression of individual liberty. It will be second to none.

They don’t call the once great state of California the “ People’s Republic of Kalifornia” for nothing now.
This nation is so damaged..I wonder it is time to think about moving to another country..mayby New Zealand or Iceland or someplace with more sanity.

“THESE PEOPLE aren’t all alike....just sayin’ that SOME OF US, stayed to fight.

Perhaps that concept might be entertained by SOME PEOPLE.”

A good general knows when the battle is lost.

I have a friend, a conservative, that because there is family in WA state is planning to move there in about 2 years after the house is built and he retires. It will be the primary residence and the home they have in AZ will be the winter home..why WA because there is no state income tax and the cost of living is lower..If my DH were not a California native with family here I think I would be looking at TX or TN..

Game. Set. Match!!

The once conservative court has bellied up to the trough.

‘Justice’ is now all about equality and economic and social justice.. and the rest of you, be damned.

You don’t like being condemned to living in a social experiment or living in a Udopia under construction, move.

Thanks. I understand. We will stay and fight...hopefully, we can split the state into three: Northern, Southern, and New CA = Palm Springs, Orange County and San Diego - we would be able to secure the border...maybe even buy Baja after a bit...set up MASSIVE tourist spots on the newly cleaned up beaches and life could be good.

I'm NOT giving up! ...never, never, never, give up!

Some people can handle the isn't always easy part....some can't.

And some people don't have the financial independence to live where there is no job! They must go where the job is and CA seems to like to get rid of all businesses.

Hell, they can't even support the mainstay of this state....the farmer. Instead, they cherish an ugly fish that isn't even native to this state and kill the farming industry. Did you notice that 4 of the top 5 cities noted for the worst unemployment in the nation are in CA. More specifically, the Central Valley (which is where, BTW, I was born and raised).

Maybe, just maybe, doing "the right thing" is getting the hell out of this state that wants us here solely to raise our taxes (which is what's next on Brown's agenda) to pay for their illegals and give-away programs. I can no longer afford to let the artsy-fartsy Hollywood folks, who can afford to hide their money in Swiss bank accounts, make all the decisions regarding my life and my money because they have a larger voting block and out number us in this state.

Of course, this is probably a moot point as most, like me, can't sell their homes to move without taking a huge loss.

Maybe doing the "right thing" is doing what you have to do to survive and not to be flippant with others w/o knowing their situation, FRiend...

Well, maybe the sooner the Democrats kill California, the sooner someone will be able to fix it.
