Romney is winning his battles, but losing our war
Legal Insurrection ^ | January 28, 2012 | William A. Jacobson

If you asked me even a couple of weeks ago whether the Republican Party could heal from the wounds of this election cycle in time to unite against Obama, I would have said ”Yes.”

I’m not so sure anymore. After the South Carolina primary the Republican establishment, and media supporters like Matt Drudge, launched Scorched Earth II on Newt, while pro-Romney pundits like Ann Coulter heaped scorn on the conservative and Tea Party voters who sided with Newt.

It may just be “not-beanbag” to the Romney campaign and its supporters, but people hear them loud and clear.

Two lines of attack have exposed a schism between the Republican political haves and have nots which will not easily heal: The attempt to rewrite the history of the Reagan revolution and the embrace of Nancy Pelosi’s partisan ethics attack and blackmail.

This website is helping me to deal with my Drudge withdrawals. He has the first to have the Nancey Reagan video and has a great piece about Huckabee lying to help prop up Mitt. Come on Florida! Don't let Mitt win this battle!

Well that’s about the most accurate (yet sad) headline I’ve read in a very long time.

Conservatives need to be realistic that the Establishment GOP are not our friends.

It is blowing my mind that they are arrogant enough to think that we will just fall into line after this disgusting treatment of Newt and vote for Mitt in November. I will NEVER cast a vote for Mitt Romney!

Folks around the country are watching what’s going on in FL.
Newt is ahead of Willard nationally. They know what charges and lies were told. Once the truth opens up, he’ll fall faster than before.

Remember when everyone was in, he had trouble getting above 25. Anything above that are soft supporters.

The only reason he won NH was his cousin, Jon Huntsman, whose family fortune is intertwined with Romney’s Bain was a straw candidate drawing the ABM vote away from the other candidates. Funny how he withdrew twenty four hours after FR posted links to the family charts and the family fortune links.

Not necessarily. Have faith.

For America to win, Romney must lose.

Because of the votes that Santorum is taking away from Newt, the outcome of the election will be very close. Newt has got to win this one.

Conservatives are still going to show up at the Republican National Convention next summer, and if the deadlock is still where the vote is split between Newt, Romney and “neither of the above”, it will be time for the SERIOUS campaign to begin.

The “smart money” and the “conventional wisdom” try to say it is not possible with today’s Republican Party, but a brokered convention may still the best resolution to the current schism. Personally, I would like to see Herman Cain get propelled into the ring as first contender, as the very sharpness, the kind, and the timing of the allegations against him are very much what could could be expected from the war room of the now failing obama regime.

Herman Cain took the fight to Bill Clinton years ago, and the Democrat establishment has never forgotten, as Bill got his lunch fed to him that day. The Democrats were in shock and awe of what Herman Cain represented and still represents as a threat to their very existence.

And maybe not just to the Democrat establishment, but to the RINOs who are their natural allies, as well.

Problem is - all four of the remaining candidates are a “lose” for America, even if the eventual candidate were to defeat Obama (which I’m not even sure any of the 4 can do...).

Romney = big government, socialism.
Newt = big government, Global Warming “green energy” fraud...
Santorum = big government, wavering Constitutional rights
Paul = maybe smaller government, but a decimated military and dangerous isolationist foreign policy - but he will never get the votes of anyone but the far out libertarians and fringe folks.

And of course, there is a real reason to fear a 2nd Obama term.

I’m just happy to see more light exposed on that lying scum Romney and his conspirators.

I can’t even watch Fox News anymore. Today it was like a Romney infomercial.

I will not vote for Barry Hussein O’Bama either as himself or as Mitt Romney. The end effect is the same but the necessary results will occur faster under the name Romney than under the other alias, Obama. Voting him in as Romney is giving in totally to the Communist State. It means that the Opposition is just as socialist as the official Democrats and that all barriers to the Total State have crumbled. The kenyan has to fight for Control. If Romney is nominated and run by the Auxiliary Democrat Party then the entire system will know that the population demands Socialism and the defense against it in Washington and the statehouses will evanesce. It will be gone.

America has two men who see themselves as Caesar to Rome or Napoleon to France, the kenyan and Romney. We are seeing the transition of the Republic into the Empire.

I really don’t think Romney’s side, maybe even Romney himself, think they can win the election. I don’t think that is so important to them. The point is that Romney is next in line and must be awarded with the Republican nomination. That is how it was with Dole and with McCain. McCain, after getting the nomination, made it obvious that that was really all he wanted. Every time I saw him during the election campaign he made me think, “just who does McCain want to win this election?” He said more in defense of the kenyan than in opposition.
