****The GOP was a permanent minority wing of the DNC back then and perfectly happy about it.****

I have come to the same conclusion. We have ONE PARTY in Congress. The DNC is the abusive spouse and the GOP is the passive partner - taking a beating and neglecting the kids (that would be us).

While there has been a clear attack on the conservative base by the insiders fighting for their own power, it is becoming evident this group is working multiple angles now to ‘put down’ the tea party rebellion in the party. They did not like it one bit that we, the people, knocked out their Senate choices in FL, UT, DE, and other states. They are determined to use every means necessary to demoralize the base, remove key players like West through redistricting, and scorched earth attacks like those on Palin, Newt, and Cain. They do this even if it means weakening the party and winning less races. Scary stuff.

I tell you this, assuming Mitt is their guy...if he loses in November, the current RNC is probably done....a third party will arise or there will be a mutiny amongst the party faithful to take over. If Mitt wins, the upside is no more Obama...the downside is that there will be a further, emboldened effort to move the party to the left and knock out all the great new conservative leaders we elected over the past two years. As Trent Lott said, the focus will be to marginalize those in office, and continue to knock others out of office if they do not go along.

After the DC insider crew screwed up the party...the base got it back on track in the past two years, endangering the political class. They are on the warpath, and will fight dirty to keep their power.

Didn’t Florida gain seats, not lose them? (I haven’t checked, and am going my memory). If so, gerrymandering an incumbent black Congressman out of office could result in court challenges.

Liberals yell “racism” too often, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

No one's going to cry 'racism' in this situation, because West plays for the wrong team.

Stuff it, moron.

Why don’t you go FO to there??...and go pound sand.

Well rude biches:

First of all, I am neither a Romulan RINO, nor a whacked out, stoner Paulistinian surrender monkey. And I'm certainly not an Obama voter like you two.

How dare you challenge the other poster's right to vote for someone other than the Mittbot?

How dare I? I didn't. I never challenged his "right" (actually a privilege) to vote for anyone, I merely pointed out that it equates to a vote for Obama.

Isn't is amazing how a handful of legitimate votes could have completely changed the outcome of an election?

But I'm sure that as big powerful political activist geniuses, that you've been involved in waiting for countless white-knuckled election-night polling results, and tight-race ballot recounts.

How many exactly?

I am no Obama voter, you Northeastern Maine queer.

Voting for Romney is the same as voting for Obama, either way the Left wins, @$$hat.

PO.

Once again, you don’t know a damn thing about me. So stick it up your Northeastern Maine rear.

I think there already is a decent conservative named Hasner somewhere in the race against Nelson. Right now I think the Colonel needs donations of enough money to let him decide what to do next. If Allen West isn’t taken care of by his colleagues, I’m all for selectively ignoring most requests for help coming out of Florida.

This has also happened to the conservative firebrand Jeff Landry, R-New Iberia, LA.

His power comes from GHWB and Bob Dole and the Repubican primary voters who believe it is Mitt’s “turn.”

So many of the AZ Republican primary voters are just stuck on McPain. As the late Ann Richards would say if she could, “they cain’t he’p it.”

If Bondi was in a debate about RomneyCare or ObamaCare, she'd be all screwed up in thirty seconds.

She'd even have to sing "Happy Birthday" to remember what her own name was.

That your way of telling us what a big Bob Dole wardheeler you were, back in the day?

That would be you, ROCKLOBSTER, all-caps RiNO wardheeler and policer-up of non-Romney voters.

I voted for Reagan...twice.

No, I think I learned this hard lesson after supporting Ross Perot and helping elect Clinton. Bob Dole was otherwise a non-starter.

Recently it was, Palin, Cain, Perry, not much left now, either Newt or Santorum.

Looking at the current debacle that is the US political climate, I can't see how any decent American would consider running for the top of the ticket.

Also there is a big difference between staying home on election day, or casting a protest vote. It all depends on who you vote for down-ticket.

But if you're going to vote for the enemy, you might as well be honest about it.

I will not be voting for the jug-eared Marxist.

But the libs don’t acknowledge he’s black since he’s conservative. So it’s all good.

Agreed that the usual suspects in the Democratic Party won't.

Of course, if there's no valid case to be made for racism it should not be made merely to score political points. But I hope LTC West looks into it, and if he thinks a racism accusation needs to be made, that fellow conservatives do so.

Bigotry does exist in our circles, the courts may be receptive if a credible case can be made, and I'm not convinced that honest Democrats as well as those who want to bash Republicans for their own reasons won't agree, if the racism case is solid.

I think West has already given us his answer. He intends to run for re-election in a neighboring district, where he stands a chance of being returned to the House.

Frankly, I'd rather we didn't become embroiled in a case of 'racism' against a sitting black congressman - even if he does play for our team. Perhaps even especially because he plays for our team. It's a muddy field we oughtn't be playing on.
