SALMON, Idaho (Reuters) - Bird enthusiasts are reporting rising numbers of snowy owls from the Arctic winging into the lower 48 states this winter in a mass southern migration that a leading owl researcher called "unbelievable."

Quite a creature. I like the feathered “boots”.
More evidence of global cooling.
Get in on the ground floor of the next scientific plot to soak up taxpayer’s money.
lol My wife just returned from a 3 week visit at Fairbanks. The temp range was +19f - -54f. That’s what she said, “just too damned cold.”
Hundreds of cattle at your bird feeder? WOW :-)
Not as good as manatee but better than gopher tortoise.
Damn, it got down to 45 last night here in Nawth Flawaduh.
That's only 109 degrees warmer. But it's a damp cold here, so you probably wouldn't notice the difference.
I know my cattle...
Actually after twenty some years, I’ve gotten use to it. Feed the wood stoves, reload ammo, and watch dir tv; thank God for HD & big screens. I couldn’t ever get use to the hordes, crime, congestion, taxes, organized local govts, and cops hiding in the weeds with radar; we don’t have none of that here but it does cool off some in January. Clear up to minus 28 at 8 pm sunday evening, regular heat wave.
