Gingrich campaign to traveling press: Find your own damn ride

ORLANDO, Fla.--It's total newt-iny on the Gingrich campaign press bus.

For each caucus or primary during the 2012 presidential campaign, Gingrich's campaign has organized transportation for the reporters assigned to cover him--as is customary for nearly every presidential candidate.

[snip]

That working relationship pretty much stopped working this weekend, two days before the Florida primary.

The trouble began when Daniel Malloy, a reporter for the Atlanta Journal Constitution, started to do some simple math,

[another snip]

Sitting in the back of the bus that day, the penny pinching press got to thinking:

[yet another snip]

One by one, the reporters signaled that they would not join the former speaker on his plane.

[yet again another snip]

And because fewer journalists would be on the plane, the cost per seat skyrocketed to more than $3,000.

[even yet again another snip]

The reporters on the bus, now saddled with an unexpected new cost, fumed. Campaign aides were furious over the little mutiny. Reporters threatened to dispute the charges to their credit cards.

Then, the campaign dropped a bomb: No reporters would be allowed to fly with Gingrich on his campaign swing on Monday,

How much is Romney paying reporters to ride his bus?

What food?

What services?

Isn’t this a form of pay for play reporting?

This needs to go viral. The press will try and bury it. Go Newt. Don’t take any stuff off the bought and paid for left wing media.

Great post Petruchio.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not faulting your "hack job" on the article with my post here.
It's like my grandmother always said about me, "I may be slow but I can always come to the wrong conclusion."
Or, "You're always the first one to come up with the right answer to the wrong question."

I've canvassed Florida. From Miami to PC and all points in between. It's grueling.
Alligator Alley alone will humble the staunchest of heart.
So I went to the link and read the article in its entirety.
The lines I found revealing were:

"The trouble began when Daniel Malloy…started to do some simple math, always a risky endeavor for a working journalist.

"Gingrich's Florida schedule…West Palm Beach…bus…to Orlando…private charter…West Palm Beach…charter…to Tampa…

Apparently these wimp reporters do not understand a rigorous schedule and elected not to do the West Palm to Orlando to West Palm to Tampa grind.
Obviously the only way to make that schedule work is to take to the skies. These cats would simply skip the dinner in WP and catch Newt in Tampa.
Can someone say "Bad Move"?

Later that night, the rest of the traveling press corps watched from the bus, 200 miles away, as Herman Cain endorsed Gingrich for president.
Oh, they also got to hear Rep. West sizzling remarks from afar.

LMOA…again!
