A rock band made up of Russian former paratroopers has scored a surprise hit with a song that labels Vladimir Putin a "tyrant", registering half a million hits on YouTube.

Beefy, tattooed, wearing berets and military decorations on their chests, two singers and three back-up musicians let rip at Putin, the prime minister who is seeking to return to the presidency in March 4 elections.

"You've destroyed the military, the army is broken and you've spat on the soldiers and sent the officers packing," they sing.

"We're asking you nicely: Go, tyrant!"

Putin is President of South Ossetia, Abkhazia, and Chechnya, not the President of Russia. Go now Putin, before it is too late! The Russian people you’ve betrayed are sick of you!

The ‘former Para’s’ in that video have absolutely no relation to VDV troops beyond illegally wearing their uniform. No self respected Russian para will have medals on stripe shirts.

Fake and gay.

Doesn’t really matter if you think they’re fake or gay, or if you’re indeed correct. The point is what they’re saying and that it’s getting worldwide attention.

Yep, I’m not a fan of Putie but it is a typical lib and commie propaganda against him to me.

Putin is not communist. Russian communists are his main domestic adversaries and the most vocal critics of his policy.

“Putin is not communist.”

Ha, you mean he isn’t anymore? Technically, correct. Now he’s just a fascist.

Well, I think he is. Modern Russia is an oligarchy ruled by monopolist corporations&tycoons and government is a branch of this system. Putin is on top until he can ballance the system to keep fat cats fat and mices brainwashed enough to think their crumb of mouldy cheese is a god-send treasure.
It doesn’t seems he can.
The biggest danger to me is a communist comeback after Putie’s possible failure in Russia.
There are too many stupid young people there who haven’t really lived under communism and are idealitic about it based on some of commie achievements they are linking to national pride which modern Russia lacks in their opinion. Another pro-commie group are older Russians who used to rely on nunny state and still can’t find themself in new reality with responsibility and enterprise as a value.
