Ten Things You Should Do If You’re An “Anybody But Mitt” Republican, And One You Should Not
Hot Air ^ | February 1, 2012 | Mitch Berg

Let’s say, hypothetically, for just a moment here, that some of the pundits are right – that Romney’s landslide victory in Florida means he really might be inevitable.

I’ve heard more than a few of you Newt and Paul supporters out there; “If Romney wins, I’m staying home on election day”.

While I’m not especially passionate about Romney just yet, I’ll reiterate what an awful idea this is. Don’t go there, people.

I’ve got ten suggestions for much more-productive responses.

You don’t know the devil you think you know very well then... my wife is in health care, and she is telling me that Obamacare is already viciously rooting itself at her hospital. They are spending tons to comply with upcoming Obamacare mandate deadlines, and she says it cannot be easily uprooted. If and when it is ruled unconstitutional or repealed something will have to take its place, and bridges will need to be built from the current mandates to new gov mandates or whatever is to replace Obamacare... its as hell of a mess already.

Give that devil 4 more years, and we are europe or worse. Not to mention the hostility this devil’s administration has toward religious institutions, such as Catholic directed hospitals (forcing them to administer birth control and perform abortions) and other social helps institutions. Go ahead vote for the devil you think know or vote by not voting, but if we don’t exercise this devil this time around, he may never be exercised... you think it can’t happen here? Human history is replete with evidence that evil can spring itself on any society and subject freedom unto tyranny, and tyranny never has a peaceful disposition.

Voting for McCain made my stomach turn last time around but Palin made it at least palatable. Maybe if Romney chose Marco Rubio I would find it palatable to vote for Mitt.

I live in California and Obama is going to win this state regardless, so that is going to pose an interesting dilemma for me.

I really don’t have to vote R because my vote isn’t going to make a difference anyway. But I will vote for congress and other offices and ballot initiatives.

But it might give the system better feedback if we vote 3rd party for President. (in mass) If we keep voting for the same we will keep getting the same. The Republican establishment should not take my vote for granted anymore.

Don’t know if I’m going to do this, but for the first time in my life I will consider voting 3rd party for President this year.

I live in Massachusetts so it probably does not matter if I don’t vote for Mittens. Romneycare is also viciously rooting intself in Massachusetts and was the blueprint for 0bamacare. I rest my case.

I’m not getting on this thread and, if I were to get on this thread, which I’m not, I would agree with the article.

—I hear those among you who say you’ll sit this election out. ”If the party loses because they didn’t go conservative enough for me, it’ll teach them a lesson”. —

I will sit out the presidential election if Mitt is the nominee. I may sit out the whole thing. But my reasoning is not “teaching someone a lesson”. Rather, it is where I already am. That is, the world is on the precipice of the greatest collapse in the history of man. This election will not stop it, even if Sarah could somehow run and win. The problems are too big. We’ve fallen off the cliff and are on our descent to the jagged rocks hundreds of feet below. We cannot simply find a leader that will magically produce a lasso and get us back to the top. It’s too late for that. We are committed to the full distance to the rocks below.

I’ve been saying that for years, but I feel a little like a guy that was told he has two years to live, and my two years are up in a few weeks. That is, even though I’ve felt this way for about four years, it is still hard to believe as we near the end. But the signs are all around us and this election is but one of them.

One of the suggestions was “relax”. Do you think that would have been good advice for jews in Germany as they watched Hitler rise to power? The courageous ones were the ones who LEFT THE COUNTRY. It is not an easy thing to do, and your friends all think you are over reacting. But time tests actions, as ours will be tested in the next year.

—There is not a dimes worth of difference between Romney and BHO.—

I’ve used this analogy: It’s like being a jew and having to choose between Hitler and Stalin.

Some of us have been there and have dug in enough to build a barricade.

No Mitt. Not now, not ever.

While I agree with the general principle of voting for the "least bad" in the general election, there are still some lines that can't be crossed, and Romney crosses most of them. We would be no better off with Romney than we are with Obama.

” If we control Congress, we control Mitt.”

I hope you’re right, but I don’t think it’ll turn out that way. “We” won’t have control. RINOs will.

—What would you be doing now, all you good conservatives? —

I’ve already done it. I became a prepper. I bought my small farm and new home in Kentucky two weeks before Obama was elected. I moved here from Seattle last August. There is no political solution to the problems we face. It’s too late for that. The car has gone off the cliff and everyone is scrambling to be in the back seat when it hits the rocks below.

It is an exercise in futility. I’m preparing the best I can for war on US soil.

Well, if Romney gets the nomination, we’ll get to find out if you are right. I love surprises!

Let Obama utterly destroy the economy and cause us to go belly up. That way when it happens it will be seared into the retarded brains of the citizenry that it was the socialist democrats that were in charge and caused the demise of this once great nation.

Old thought that's still good today:

"If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures." - Alexander Hamilton

Alexander articulated how I felt about McCain. I feel even moreso about Romney.

“I’m not getting on this thread ... I would agree with the article”

And yet, here you are and on the `Romney Courts Bachman’ thread as well.
Don’t give up. The ancient Greeks’ definition of `Idiot’ included a citizen who refused to get involved with politics.
It is a discouraging time for all conservatives but it is good to hear from everyone, especially yourself, so hang in there!

They run harder against us than they did Obama.

THIS is the incriminating evidence!!! It has ALWAYS been this way, they tried it with Reagan - but Ronald Reagan was the exception that blasted his way through their fortress.

They always fight the conservatives within their party harder than they fight the other side. Folks, the GOP-E are not our friends! They don't want the same things we do & they only patronize us for our votes. The Dems and the Reps have made a silent "truce" not to rock the boat, it's too good of a gig & We The People are trying to ruin it for them.

This ploy of theirs has worked time and time again & they are doing it again now - we always play into their scheme by voting for the lesser of two evils - time and time again. We are rewarding their bad behaviour & the time has come to stop this.

The GOP-E has got to be shown that it is WE that have the power & we have got to exert that power - for the sake of the country that we love. WE are the key to fixing this, but only if we can stick together. We keep making the mistake of diluting our numbers by backing numerous conservative candidates & enabling the Establishment candidate to beat us.

Seems like we need to somehow go through that winnowing process BEFORE the start of the national campaign - so we can narrow it down 'in-house' and not on the national stage. I really do think it's time for us to start another party - to have it in place for 2016. In the meantime, we work on Congress, we start putting ourselves in local office and build our way up - BUT NOT IN THE GOP STRUCTURE!!! That brand has been destroyed. We've got to stop thinking that we can take over the party - we don't have enough time to try that anymore.

If Romney ends up being the nominee, the GOP is going to have to be taken out, to save the country & to send a powerful message to Washington DC, that we're not going to be their pawns anymore. This is it - I will not play along anymore - and I do this BECAUSE I love my country!

People act likevthis is something new...people sat home in 2008 when ‘they’ tried to shove McCain down our throat. It will be MUCH WORSE with Romney. You aren’t even going to hear from them on the internet forums like this one or on ‘talk’ radio, but they are out there.
