The Obama-Biden reelection campaign, which just announced it banked $224 million in 2011, is stepping up fundraising as it steels for an expected fall "smear" machine from GOP front-runner Mitt Romney. In an email to supporters this morning, Obama campaign manager Jim Messina warned that the Republicans will have a fat bank account to tap for negative ads, something both Romney and Newt Gingrich did in Florida. "They're going to try to spend and smear their way to the White House," Messina said about Republican groups and candidates.

Romney smear Machine against Obama Smear Machine is like a ten year old light weight kid fighting the world boxing champ. It is not going to be a context what so ever. Obama the Lord and Master of class warfare is going to attach the chain of Bain Capital around Romney neck and drag him like an ancient time gladiator dragged his defeated opponent in the arena. Romney utter defeat against Obama would be remembered in the annals of Presidential elections forever.
Yes, that does appear to be Romney’s method when his opposition stands to his right. Willard hates conservatives. But with progressives or ideological fellow travelers like Obama he’s much more neutral.
I pray that whoever the nominee is runs the campaign the way it should have been run the FIRST time.....EXPOSE THIS RACIST, ANTI-AMERICAN ANTI-SEMITE!

I totally agree. Mittens is now and always was and always will be a liberal dummycrat. He'd be perfect on the dummycrat ticket. I wish he'd go away somewhere and leave what's left of the Repub Party alone.

From what I’ve seen of Romney in Fl, if he ran like that in a general election, the mud pile from both will be unlike any seen in history.
I wouldn’t be shocked if they end up blowing 2 billion between them and Super PACS.
The GOP-E will tell Romney not to launch smear attacks against Obama for fear that it will alienate “the mushy middle”. Romney, not wanting to piss off the GOP-E, will oblige.
