A Massachusetts woman says the FBI used a chain saw blade to cut through her door and held her at gunpoint for at least 30 minutes before agents realized they were conducting a raid at the wrong home.
Judy Sanchez, of Fitchburg, says she awoke to heavy footsteps in the stairwell on Jan. 26 and walked into her kitchen in time to see a blade chop through her door.
"I took two steps, face the second door, and I heard the click of a gun, and saying, ‘FBI, get down,’ so I laid down on my living room floor,” Sanchez told WHDH.com. "I was screaming, ‘You have the wrong apartment, you have the wrong apartment,’ over fifty times. And then I seen the big blade coming down my door."

No one was hurt, and both g-men and citizen had a good training exercise. So that’s all right then.

No dogs shot, so overall it was an unsuccessful raid.
The FBI should have turned this oops into a win by checking Ms. Sanchez' legal status.
We’ll compensate by shooting some other neighbor’s dog for no reason.

As usual, no one will lose their job over this outrageous blunder. - and there's your answer. Why would they ever change from the current practice if there's reason to do so? Where's the 'ROI'?
So what would’ve happened if a law-abiding citizen exercised their right to self-defense and opened fire on whoever it was that was USING A CHAINSAW to break into their home at 3am in the morning?
I see these stories every so often (and wonder about the stories that you KNOW get covered up) and I’m waiting to hear something like this:
(UPI) San Diego, California. San Diego police report the deaths of twelve armed Federal agents who early this morning attempted to dynamically enter the home of GySgt. Robert Smith. Smith, a twenty year veteran of an undisclosed SEAL team, reported that he was awakened at 3am by the sound of heavy footsteps on his porch. When he heard the sound of a chainsaw being used on his front door he said he took defensive action with his two legally owned .45 caliber automatic handguns. Investigators report that Smith fired thirteen times at the Federal agents who were trying to arrest a suspected drug dealer at a similar address in San Dimas but came to Smith’s house in San Diego by mistake.
The District Attorney’s office says that no charges will be filed against Smith who was “clearly just defending himself”. Federal agents who later tried to take Smith into custody were rebuffed by San Diego police officers and Marine Corps personnel.
There was no comment from the Federal agency responsible for mistakenly sending the twelve agents to Smith’s home outside of that Smith’s door would be replaced.
It turns out agents were after the other tenant on the floor of the multi-unit building who was suspected of dealing drugs. The raid was called Operation Red Wolf, a two-year investigation into drugs and weapons, ....TWO YEARS and they can't even get the correct apartment of the 'bad guy'? Bang up job there guys!!
Oh well, on the upside -- The agents got to play soldier, and no dogs or other pets were needlessly killed. Or any unarmed women or babies shot while standing in a doorway by the Feebs cracker-jack Snipers.
Under Hoover heads would roll for screw-ups like this.
Not now. Now someone will get a promotion.

She had a 3 month old pitbull puppy who was so scared it pissed on the floor.
Doesnt work if there is a bar across the door. but you can cut away half the door.
That would be unusual.
