So, the funds are there for R&D, but NHS/ObamaNanny's say it's too expensive for you!

I may be looking at this myself a few years down the line. I think that folks need to realize a few months more life is not justified by the costs of treatment in many cases. IMHO there are some treatments that the individual must pay for on his/her own and cannot expect the government or for that matter insurance companies (as part of basic coverage) to pay.
