Catholic Church’s unfair attack against Obama (by condemning baby killing)
Boston Glob ^ | February 2, 2012 | Joan Vennochi

Last Sunday, the Catholic Church declared war on President Obama. Republican Senator Marco Rubio of Florida quickly took up the cause, signaling the outlines of a serious religious rumble to come in 2012.

The president should be ready for the fight, knowing that on this one he is right.

At Sunday Mass, Catholic parishioners across the country were read letters denouncing the Obama administration’s recent decision to require religiously affiliated hospitals, colleges, and charities to offer health insurance coverage to employees for contraception and the "morning-after pill." On Monday, Rubio, a Republican star who is often mentioned as a VP candidate, introduced a bill that would override the Obama policy by allowing religious institutions that morally oppose contraception to refuse to cover it.

But not all employees of Catholic institutions are Catholics. Why should their employers impose their religious beliefs on them and deny coverage for birth control and other medical care? As long as those Catholic institutions are getting taxpayer money, they should follow secular rules. That’s the Obama administration’s argument, and it makes sense.

I could never understand how the Catholic church supported Obamacare. I asked many liberal Catholics how they could support a bill that gave the government control over not just their uterus, but their entire body. They never had an answer.

He will push the American people too far over this and he will decidedly not like the results.

No, he will not. Nor will the eliminationist monstrosities who prop him up. We will not fire the first shots in this oncoming war, but we will do our considerable best to fire the last.

I've observed that this whole tide of evil, from the boardrooms to the union halls, from the #occupy mobs to the White House, from the gated communites to the Hollywood enclaves - are all doing their very best to make it easy for us - almost conscience-free - to deliver the justice that is so well deserved by these champions of human slavery, misery and death.

PS: I just saw Nancy Pelosi on Fox Evening news - she is supporting Obama in this. She must be excommunicated from the Catholic Church for advocation in support of abortion and hedonism.

I fear for her eternal soul. I think I care more for her after life than she does. She really does need prayers!!!!!

I am at the point now where my ultimate non-compliance will take place over the barrel of a gun.

The one and only mission of the Catholic Church is to save human souls from eternal damnation. Anything it get involves in that does not include that underlying objective is a useless distraction.

The Catholic Church can take a big step in establishing its credibility by firing any employee who does not recognize and respect this.

Obama has steered us into uncharted waters; waters we have not sailed since 1860. Lord have mercy.

Hmmm......maybe because it's illegal to to hire or fire somebody based on religion. Maybe because as a consequence, religious institutions cannot hire only those of their faith. Maybe the author should realize that it's the liberals who impose their beliefs by forcing religious institutions (that aren't places of worship) to hire non-religious, and now it's the liberals who want impose their beliefs by forcing Catholics to violate their conscience.

The American people will nor do his bidding in this. It is not they who will fire a shot...many Catholic Bishops are indicating they will not comply, and the membership will follow them, and Americans like me and you I know will support them.

It will be like a giant Klamath Falls.

That is when the rubber will meet the pavement if the SCOTUS or a Republican President does not end it before then. It would be Hussein and his minions, faced with wide spread non-compliance, who would fire the first shot.

Yes - in their ignorance, their hatred and their lust for power, that is all that will be left to them. It's the ultimate end of the Sunstein method: nudge, shove - and then shoot when it still doesn't work. That's al lthey know. And it will be their downfall.

I know that he is not afraid of facing his Maker, as he really does not believe in Him. That will not keep him from facing God one day and giving an account. At that time he will NOT be able to blame George Bush, the earthquake in Japan, or anybody else.

Health insurance started out to cover an illness which landed you in the hospital which you couldn’t cover with a week’s pay. Little by little it has grown until we are now forced to cover your neighbor’s birth control so he can play around with sex. It covers doctor’s visits, glasses, prescriptions, dental visits, and many other things that people should pay for directly.

It became that way over time. The doctors didn’t object because they made more money. The insurance companies didn’t object, much the same as they now take part in settlements, because it means more money for them. And while we were not watching, they swelled medical insurance to the giant creation that we have today. At work, they shoved dental and prescription drug coverage at us. If we wanted basic coverage in the last dozen years, we had to accept the periphals. Consequence..., our costs almost doubled.

I don’t know the solution now. We could all stop buying insurance, but people are sheep and would not go along with that. They will continue to buy insurance, thinking that they are getting something for nothing.
