GOP's Hatch: Someone needs to remind Obama he's not Jesus Christ
By Josiah Ryan - 02/02/12 06:43 PM ET
Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) on Thursday evening said President Obama needs a reminder that he is not Jesus Christ.
"In 2008, the president declared that his nomination was the world historical moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal," Hatch said in a a speech from the Senate floor.
"Someone needs to remind the president that there was only one person who walked on water and he did not occupy the Oval Office."
Hatch skewered the president for a remark he made at the National Prayer Breakfast on Thursday morning, during which he suggested Jesus might support his plan to raise taxes on wealthy Americans.
For me as a Christian, it also coincides with Jesuss teaching that 'for unto to whom much is given, much shall be required,'" Obama said at the breakfast.
Hatch, who is a devout Mormon, suggested Obama was trying to "assume the role of theologian-in-chief" and said he ought to stick to public policy.
"[Obama] suggested to the attendees that Jesus would have supported his latest tax-the-rich schemes," Hatch said. "With due respect to the president, he ought to stick to public policy. I think most Americans would agree that the gospels are concerned with weightier matters than effective tax rates.
Hatch said Obama does not even live up to the example set by two former presidents he claims to admire, Franklin Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln.
"At some moments in our nation's history, at moments of crises, leaders have emerged, put partisanship aside and worked to solve our greatest challenges, though our current president, who's compared himself to both Franklin Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln, his leadership is falling well short of their examples," Hatch said.
“Someone needs to remind the president that there was only one person who walked on water and he did not occupy the Oval Office.”
Well, two, actually. Peter walked out to Jesus.
That’s one weird lookin’ penis....
Credit cheerfully given where it’s due. This is spot-on and a well deserved smackdown of Obama.
I still think it’s time for Hatch to retire and let a genuine hardnosed Conservative take that Senate seat.
I wonder why Barry keeps telling people that he’s “black”. Judging from that picture, he looks like a white guy with a “garbage man tan”.
Someone needs to tell romney he’s not a god.
Obama is at my beach in Hawaii, Hanauma Bay. That is my tree I would sit under for shade. We use to live there, stationed at Pearl Sub-base. . I think it’s the most beautiful bay in the world. Not that I have seen the world.
Tell me that’s not a real cover. Please.
Obama will appeal to the HUMANISTS who want to believe they are “Christians”. This will be Obama’s way of tapping into RELIGION, dissing Mitt and continuing with his Alinsky model of destroying our country.
Mark my words, Obama will become a Jesus FREAK in the most PERVERTED way and dopey humanists that believe they are Christians will suck it up. In no way shape or form did Christ EVER promote class warfare or race warfare. Obama has to keep up the divisive divide and conquer through any means he can to achieve his goals.
BTW, I truly doubt Jesus would approve of Obama LOVE of ABORTION, advocating homosexuality and Obams’a ARRoGANCE, greed and LYING. Gospels Contradict Obama's Idea Of A Socialist Jesus Church And State: President Obama has taken a very powerful name in vain in defense of his class warfare economic policies. In fact, Obama encourages a sin Jesus Christ repeatedly admonished: envy.
Attending the National Prayer Breakfast on Thursday, President Obama declared that raising tax rates on higher incomes "coincides with Jesus' teaching that 'for unto whom much is given, much shall be required.'" It is disgraceful enough for a president to use a religious event to push an economic agenda that has already insured his place in history as the food stamp president. But Obama began his remarks by claiming there was nothing political in what he would be saying. He was there, he said, so that he and the attendees could "come together as brothers and sisters and seek God's face together."
After getting "caught up in the noise and rancor that too often passes as politics today, these moments of prayer slow us down. They humble us," the president said, adding that "we can all benefit from turning to our Creator, listening to Him, avoiding phony religiosity, listening to Him."
This from a president who has conspicuously neglected attending religious services during his time in office until recently, that is, with his re-election campaign revving up. It looks to be a cynical manipulation of those who hold deep religious beliefs, little more. Sanctimonious talk about "turning to our Creator, listening to Him, avoiding phony religiosity" from a president leftist comic Bill Maher is convinced is really a secular humanist just like his mother, whom Obama described as having "a healthy skepticism of religion as an institution."
Considering that the rest of Obama's prayer breakfast speech was all politics, how can he not be judged guilty of "phony religiosity" himself? The president said televangelists "come by the Oval Office .. . and we'll pray together." Imagine the media clamor if a Republican president said this. But don't expect a peep in the news raising church and state issues about this.
According to President Obama, Jesus's "command to 'love thy neighbor as thyself '" is behind his expansion of government and regulation, and his tax increases. Everything his administration has been doing, from foreign aid to Uganda to Dodd-Frank making "too big to fail" a permanent fixture of financial institutions, is apparently based on the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Then, a moment later, he shamelessly pivots and quotes C.S. Lewis a conservative who would be appalled by Barack Obama's ideas saying that Christianity has no "detailed political program."

Pick up a copy of Rules for Radicals by Saul D. Alinsky.
Obama already knows the game:
CNN Turns Blind Eye To Obama-Alinsky Ties
Posted 01/26/2012 06:54 PM ET Journalism:
As the president launches his re-election bid by striking a more centrist tone, the partisan press is helping him whitewash his radical past. Teamwork or not, it'll be hard to bleach. Exhibit A is CNN's Soledad O'Brien. Earlier this week, she hosted a segment that tried to de-link Obama from Chicago socialist Saul Alinsky.
The late Alinsky is the father of community organizing and the author of the far-left bible "Rules for Radicals." O'Brien opened her piece by scolding GOP front-runner Newt Gingrich for warning Obama "will represent Saul Alinsky (and) European socialism" in a second term. "President Obama has never said that he was influenced by Alinsky," O'Brien insisted. Of course he hasn't. He's not stupid enough to publicly link himself to a socialist. But the record is clear that he was in fact influenced by Alinsky, if only CNN's "journalists" would do their homework. Allow us to do it for them:
Obama first learned Alinsky's rules in the 1980s, when Alinskyite radicals with the Chicago-based Alinsky group Gamaliel Foundation recruited, hired, trained and paid him as a community organizer in South Side Chicago. (Gamaliel's website expressly states it grew out of the Alinsky movement.)
In 1988, Obama even wrote a chapter for the book "After Alinsky: Community Organizing in Illinois," in which he lamented organizers' "lack of power" in implementing change.
Gamaliel board member John McKnight, a hard-core student of Alinsky, penned a letter for Obama to help him get into Harvard Law School.
Obama took a break from his Harvard studies to travel to Los Angeles for eight days of intense training at Alinsky's Industrial Areas Foundation, a station of the cross for acolytes. Listen to the Podcast Subscribe through iTunes
In turn, he trained other community organizers in Alinsky agitation tactics.
Obama also taught Alinsky's "Power Analysis" methods at the University of Chicago.
During the presidential campaign, Obama hired one of his Gamaliel mentors, Mike Kruglik, to train young campaign workers in Alinsky tactics at "Camp Obama," a school set up at Obama headquarters in Chicago. The tactics helped Obama capture the youth vote like no other president before him.
Power would no longer be an issue, as Obama infiltrated the highest echelon of the political establishment
the White House
fulfilling Alinsky's vision of a new "vanguard" of coat-and-tie radicals who "work inside the system" to change the system. After the election, his other Gamaliel mentor, Jerry Kellman (who hired him and whose identity Obama disguised in his memoir), helped the Obama administration establish Organizing for America, which mobilizes young supporters to agitate for Obama's legislative agenda using "Rules for Radicals."

Newt can have all the little girl hissey fits he wants, expect the RULES to change for him, bash capitalism and "act" like he is anhonroable man and mention Reagans name all day long BUT, it isn't working. FR get OVER YOURSELF ON YOUR HATRED OF MITT! It looks like Mitt will be the nominee as Newt becomes more and more irrational.
Hung like a donkey!
That guy, Dan Greenfield, is so smart it is scary.
Fixed. What they are afraid to say.
Hatch is a Mormon...what does he really know about Jesus?

“President Obama needs a reminder that he is not Jesus Christ.”
Why argue with him?
You’ve got a good point there!
