These things happen on a semi-regular basis in both the Arctic and Antarctic...”...said John Sonntag, Instrument Team Lead for Operation IceBridge, ...”
He’s gonna get in trouble with the global warming people for saying that

One of the scientist involve basically states, that this is a ‘normal’ occurance.
“These things happen on a semi-regular basis in both the Arctic and Antarctic, but its still a fairly large event, said John Sonntag, “
But the ‘writer’ of the article just HAD to add this:
“To scientists, this is more than a vast spectacle. Both polar caps are losing ice, and researchers studying the worlds climate say they want to understand the process.”
Nope. No ‘subtle’ agenda there..

When hairline cracks appear in the A380, it’s no big deal. So what’s the problem here?
To: Huskrrrr
Coastal glaciers always calve and icebergs always melt a bit when it's summertime (Dec. 21 to Mar. 21) in the Antarctic. The sun being up 24 hours a day in those parts at this time of year might have something to do with this.
It is contrary to the nature of their job, but considering how generally ignorant and frequently stupid most reporters are it would be nice if they just shut up for awhile. It would give the rest of us time for our eye muscles to recover from excessive rolling each time we come across one of these articles.

The article says it will “probably” float northward. DUH! Ya Think? With Antarctica at the southern most point of the globe, there is only one way for it to go.
