Ah, the left-wing capacity for rationalization knows no bounds. While we’re told that even substantive criticism of Barack Obama is driven by the hatefulness the left has dubbed “racism,” a racial attack by three black teenagers on two white men in Philadelphia this past Monday is, somehow, not.
Consider the scenario, and then tell me why we even have “hate-crime” laws. Wrote Stephanie Farr at Philly.com:
About 8:25 p.m., a cab was stopped at a red light at 15th and Chestnut streets when two 17-year-old boys and a 15-year-old boy approached and started calling the male passenger in the back seat racially derogatory names, police said.

The prisons need filled and the Castle Doctrine will balance what hate crime laws won’t.
I’ve always believed it a waste of time and effort to have hate crimes. Most crime is hate anyway. Assault, arson, murder, rape are all punishable. Why have “Hate Crimes”? So liberals can appear Politically Correct and gain points with minorities for what appears to be selective prosecution.
The real issue here is why Hechler and Koch 9mm handguns are (mostly) illegal in Philadelphia.

Unless you are white then it’s the crime of the millenia.
This will not end well because of this one sided mentality.
Hate crimes are instituted by liberals who want to criminalize thought.
Of course, they get to determine what the perpretrator was “thinking” at the time of the “crime”.
It’s another mechanism to control others.

We have hate-crime laws to accord certain select groups an additional layer of protection under our laws, to elevate their legal status above other groups, and to further divide our society into the X's and the not-X's.
In a rich irony, all this division and stratification is done in the name of "equality."

But many on the conservative side make a good living telling us how morally superior the PC left is.
This reminds me of what happened a long time ago with my girlfriend. Some black kids were playing their music at an obnoxious level while we were on the bus. We asked them to turn the music down, and they didn’t. We moved spots on the bus. They followed us. Then we tried to get off the bus, they followed us off the bus. Then they proceeded to assault my girlfriend and call her racial slurs and call me a “race traitor” before trying to assault me.
Luckily for me, at that time, I was practicing martial arts for 6 years and I dispatched them rather quickly.
The Philly DA is one of Holder’s people. No crime, no foul. sd
