Six protesters were arrested in a pre-dawn raid on the Occupy D.C. encampment in McPherson Square Saturday, and police began clearing away tents, debris and some dead rodents.
U.S. Park Police on horseback and on foot clad in riot gear swept into the park around 6 a.m. Several square blocks downtown were closed during the raid, which was characterized as further enforcement of a no-camping crackdown that began Monday.

*shakes head* dead rodents? The one thing I remember about the Occupy STL camp was all the dog shiite everywhere..
Thanks tobyhill. It’s a crackdown, with emphasis on the crack.

WOW......DEAD RODENTS ?? I had not heard some of the protesters had died.
Which bums are we talking about, the OWS crowd or the Congresscritters?
I watched a Youtube video from earlier this week where a DC contractor had tried to rip down the silly blue tarp they’d draped over the statue. He wasn’t a tea party or big political guy, just said his right to see the statue was as valid as their right to cover it up. Of course he was mocked and lied about. I’m sure he’s smiling today.
He signed up with fr yesterday. He posted on that yt thread.

I don’t think moonbats are rodents
Excellent! He was a real patriot, not only did he keep his cool but he also stated the obvious: that his right to see the statue was just as valid as their “right” to deface it, cover it up, and deny use of the public park to others. I’m so sick of these people being babied and given preferential treatment because they claim to be some kind of “movement”.
Guarantee you if I showed up at a local park and threw my sleeping bag down under a crappy blue tarp, it would not take WEEKS for the authorities to enforce their rules, no matter what I claimed my motives to be.
Note how the article states the people who actually removed the debris were in hazmat suits, wore masks, and “gingerly” moved the debris, including sleeping bags used by the subhuman vermin, into trash bags by using poles. OMG some of those sleeping bags probably cost northward of $300 before the humanoid vermin used them, making them worthless for anyone who didn’t want to become an open air in exotic pathogen transmission and infection, even including a standard issue TSA baggage looter. Yep, dem Occupy types is ‘jes like us knuckle draggin Tea Partiers.
As
for congress I do like the conservatives..I think they have been trashed by the media and to many believe the scumbags in media..I say give them a
chance..We have to have the conservatives in Washington and when Newt get elected he will need all the backing he can get from that evil Pelosi AND Reid crap..Newt can and will clean up the mess the democrats have made but will need the votes of the congress and senate..
My understanding is that they made OWS take the tarp off of the McPherson statue and they were “inspecting” the tents for camping gear (sleeping bags, etc.) which is “illegal” and they were to only remove a tent (as evidence) if “camping gear” was found in the tent. The Park Service has determined that the tents are OK but “camping gear,” which does not include tents, is not.
Occupy DC food source??
Don't forget - they can still vote RAT.
Considering it’s winter, I can’t imagine a tent without a blanket or something similar inside. So...if it has one - the tent goes too and that should clear out most of the tents.
