The Chaplain core (which you are/were a member of if I remember right) was just told that they serve the State, not God. Similar tricks have been done in other places. There will be more pressure, to the point where either the core goes away or becomes some sort of State religion.

This is essentially what was done in Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union and Red China. The state finds some clergymen that they can influence and forms the STATE'S Catholic, Lutheran, Methodist, etc. Church and simply eliminates any theological doctrine they disagree with and then the state outlaws all other churches.

I've been saying for a long time that it's becoming increasingly necessary for orthodox Catholics and Protestants to get along with each other, because it won't be long before our common enemy puts us in jail cells and gulags together.
