Gingrich Patron Said to Have Plan B: Romney [Adelson met with Koch Brothers]

LAS VEGAS — Sheldon Adelson, the billionaire casino executive keeping Newt Gingrich’s presidential hopes alive, has relayed assurances to Mitt Romney that he will provide even more generous support to his candidacy if he becomes the Republican nominee, several associates said in interviews here. The signals from Mr. Adelson, whose politics are shaped in large part by his support for Israel, reflect what the associates said was his deep investment in defeating President Obama and his willingness to play a more prominent role in the Republican Party and conservative causes.

The assurances have been conveyed in response to a highly delicate campaign by Mr. Romney and his top Jewish financial supporters to dissuade Mr. Adelson from adding to the $10 million that he and his wife have given to a pro-Gingrich “super PAC,” Winning Our Future, that has been tearing into Mr. Romney through television advertising.

Soros is a lot more than just a “self hating Jew.” He was a Nazi Zonderkommando in WWII - a Jew who collaborated with the Nazis and helped exterminate his own people. There is a special place in Hell waiting for Soros, and as far as I’m concerned, he can’t get there soon enough.

Not sure why he’s gone with Newt but Addelson backed McCain in 08.

The most important line buried in the middle of the article: "Mr. Adelson declined to be interviewed."

This means the article is basically a fabrication from anonymous second and third hand "sources."

Given the number of negative Newt related stories lately; all of this has the characteristics of a Romney PSYOP.

So true, I think we need some sort of campaign finance reform law or something. Lets play the conservative class warfare game.

Interesting. This could explain why Trump endorsed Romney. Since Adelson is funding Newt, what chance does Trump have to legalize online gambling? I would think Romney would be more likely to support online gambling than Newt would anyway, since liberals tend to be more pro-gambling.

But at what point? During the primaries or general?

“They want something for themselves.”

Big money and big politics, the incestuous coupling that keeps the circle of power closed to outside interests.

Teehee!

Romney's blunder list is getting LONG.

Such as his Mormonized "I don't give a gosh-darn about the poor...but then I never met anyone who was poor. Only heathen are poor!"

The billionaire just might be someone who supports something already in the candidate’s platform or their past record of governance. It’s not necessarily anything untoward. Besides, we all get to look at their platforms before voting. It’s up to the voter to decide if they like the platform or not. It’s pretty irrelevant whether what’s in the platform is there because the candidate thought of it or because they have a supporter who asked for it to be in there.

I can’t find info on when. Sounds like he and Gingrich have been friends for a long time. Certainly nothing of any great importance.

From CNN

>>Since 1990, Adelson has given $10.5 million in political contributions. While he has donated some to Democrats, most of his money has gone to Republicans, including President George W. Bush, Sen. John McCain and Nevada candidates Dean Heller, Sue Lowden and Joe Heck.<<

Does this November election come down to
The Battle of the Financial Titans :

David H. Koch and Charles G. Koch, Sheldon Adelson, Donald Trump VS George Soros, Donald Sussman [new billionaire husband of [D} Chellie Pingre-ME {news} ] & _______?

It sounds to me that this is coming down to a battle of the billionaires. Adelman and the Koch Brothers (all of whom love America and are conservative) have probably 60-70 billion between them and that puts the LDS and Soros to shame.

Perhaps he wants Romney to provide a favor in exchange for stopping support to Newt:

The assurances have been conveyed in response to a highly delicate campaign by Mr. Romney and his top Jewish financial supporters to dissuade Mr. Adelson from adding to the $10 million that he and his wife have given

Wasn’t there a thread this afternoon that said the Adelson just hosted a big fund raiser with sixty high money donors at it....It seems more likely that the Press Conference has to do with a large amount of money being donated to a PAC

NYT is playing mind games with Newt’s base.
